Autumn Fruits

This was my first attempt at a still-life so I?m particularly chuffed to have it chosen to be featured. I was inspired to give the genre a try after seeing some images posted on Bluesky by -phillips.bsky.social.

The image was taken in a completely dark room with the shutter held open and ?light-painted? with an LED torch.

Unfortunately I couldn?t find a tame mouse to pose amongst the blackberries!

As part of recent visit to Rome I booked a visit to Capitoline Museum. I spent over 3hrs walking through museum looking for interesting subject to photography. The horizontal beams of light in the room caught my attention

Sunset Swan - Whitlingham Country Park

This photo is a result of needing to clear my head. I had been struggling with health problems, so I took a visit to Whitlingham Country Park and layed down near to birds for a good few hours, snapping away. This was on 9th May 2026.
3 days later, I was admitted to hospital again. I made sure that I took my laptop, as I had ample spare time to edit the photos I had taken to keep my head positive. This photo was my favourite from that session, and it's one that clears my head whenever I view it.

Strumpshaw Fen, Norfolk

I often go to the beautiful Strumpshaw Fen in Norfolk, England to ?escape it all? and improve my wellbeing. On this particular visit there was an abundance of Damoiselles and I managed to capture this male who remained perfectly still for a while. I love the detail especially the individual hairs on its legs. Taken on a Canon 90D paired with a 100-400mm. Taken at 1/200s, f/7.1, iso100
