Let’s have that uncomfortable conversation…
Today’s post is a little different than my usual and is centred around the theme of vulnerability and the stigma around men’s mental health. I tried to recreate a series of raw and emotional images to hopefully convey the message of ‘it’s ok to not be ok’
From dealing with my own mental health in the past and speaking with friends about theirs. I know first-hand how difficult it can be to open up to someone and speak about your mental health. How uncomfortable and scary those conversations can be. But also, how much they can help.
In the UK, su***de remains the most common cause of death for men aged between 20 and 49. Men in their late forties have the highest rate, and the rate increased last year among under-25s.
So, let’s break the stigma around mental health. Let’s have that uncomfortable conversation. Let’s be there for our family, friends and colleagues when they need it.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
