Knew it was going to be a good wedding when I saw all the tartan.
I didn’t realise how stressful shooting a wedding would be. There are so many photos you have only one chance to take.
There are no second first kisses or second first dances, and it is slightly frowned upon to ask the bride to turn and around walk down the aisle again.
You just have to take as many photos as you can and try not to think about the fact that your photos will go into family photo albums to be seen by generations who haven’t even born yet.
I tried to stay clear of the classic, school like photos of bunching up like empire penguins and smiling because someones told you to (because someone has).
Of course I took a few serious ones to keep everyone happy. But mostly I wanted to capture the actual day it’s self, the pre- ceremonial nerves, the excitement, the reconnections. I wanted the people in these photos to look back at them in years to come and see everyone’s personality unstaged.
If you’d like to book me for a wedding feel free to DM me or send off a contact us form on my website (link in bio).
If your a wedding photographer, any good tips of how you like to arrange people or how prefer to shoot the day?
Thank you very much to the lovely couple who let me shoot their wedding, I had loads of fun and I wish you nothing but the best for the future.
