full circle moment.
I was 8 years old watching Usain Bolt on TV, cheering for Jamaica in my living room, shouting at the screen as he broke records. That was the first time I was introduced to him, and I remember how inspired I felt just watching him run.
With Jamaican parents, it meant even more — pride, identity, and greatness all coming through a TV screen.
Bolt wasn’t just a figure to me. He was someone I idolised the greatest at what he did. Even though I couldn’t sprint, after watching a couple of his races it genuinely made you think you could too lol.
Back then, I never imagined I’d meet him, let alone photograph him. He felt untouchable, someone you only ever see from a distance unless you got incredibly lucky.
Yesterday, I was lucky.
I met him. I photographed him. And I was in the right place at the right time.
Anything is possible. Be a little crazy. But try your best.
This one’s for 14 year old me, figuring it out with a camera and a dream.
The marathon continues 🫡
