Hi, I’m Charlotte. A pet portrait artist from Nottingham 🇬🇧
I have a huge passion for both animals and art and I bring them together by creating high quality coloured pencil drawings, capturing the characteristics, beauty and personality of your pet. I like to call them personalities on paper!
My Portraits are created on a commission basis for clients all over the world. I create my work in realism, which means the drawing looks as realisic as possible to the animal itself. I use the highest quality coloured pencils and paper to create a high standard and everlasting peice.

I realised I never posted these photos. Meeting PC Coupland and the team was such a fabulous moment in my career as an artist. It’s not always about taking bookings and having a full diary of work to complete. Somtimes it’s about giving back and trying to show kindness in any opportunity you can. And this was one of those moments.

When I read the post about PD Rambo sadly passing away on the Nottinghamshire police’s page. I had a sudden urge ‘give back’. The police do such a lot for our community and they really are not appreciated enough. Such a lot goes on behind closed doors and they risk their lives every day to protect ours. The animals they use within the Force touch my heart as an animal lover.

Reading about the journey Rambo and PC Coupland had together crime fighting and keeping bad people off the streets gave me the confidence to create a drawing of Rambo in memory of him for his handler. And I was so so pleased he loved it as much as I did creating it.

If you ever get the opportunity to brightens someone’s day, always take it.

I received such a warm welcome from everyone within the team. They gave me a tour of their facility and even got to meet some of the dogs themselves. One being a very adorable Labrador pup called Nico. We even made it onto the Nottinghamshire police’s social media pages, go check it out 🥰

6 progress pics from creating a head of hair (plus an ear😉). I find hair can be tricky sometimes, there are so many directions, colours, highlights, lowlights, lengths etc.

This particular piece the subject has a haircut called a ‘skin fade’ where it is longer on top and slowly blends out shorter and shorter. I always love a challenge! Being predominately an animal artist you’d think hair wouldn’t be so bad as I’m always drawing fur ☺️ but each portrait is different in so many lovely ways!

A reminder that from time to time I also get to draw humans! I drew Johnny Depp as ‘Jack sparrow’ for a little play about really. It’s not very often I get to draw humans so I wanted to challenge myself. And a challenge it was! I found it really fun though and I loved testing my creative skills!
