A busy week for me last week saw me working the IIHF Continental Cup Finals, where Nottingham Panthers lifted the trophy to become the first UK team to do so twice.

A great week on the jumbotron with teams from France, Denmark, Poland, Latvian Kazakstan all being awesome on the big screen.

Just a quick phone photo from the top of the bowl for this one.

One of the first ever aeroplane photos I ever took was this of a Fairey Swordfish at the IWM Duxford September show in 2012.

Taken on a Nikon Coolpix point-and-shoot.

I’d like to think I’ve come on a long way since then…

So about this. This right here is the reason I’ve launched this page now. This is the cajoling I got.

Last month, I was privileged to photograph the wedding of one of my best friends, Tom, to his wonderful partner, Georgina.

When Tom asked me about this time last year I agreed to do it, but as the big day drew closer I’m fairly sure I had more nerves and lost more sleep than them!

Taking place at the stunning Abbey Farm Weddings in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, Tom and G spent the day in the company of those nearest and dearest to them - and I was fortunate to be one of them.

I am by no means a professional photographer. I’m just a rank amateur (some would just say rank…) but to hear how much Tom and G loved the photos really makes all the stress worth it. Not least because I never like my own work.

This is just a small selection from the final set, and I’ll perhaps share one or two more down the line.

Here’s to you, Tom and G, and a lifetime of happiness together!

Mum asked whether this page would feature any “boring aeroplanes” so I thought I’d rip that bandage off straight away.

Yes, this page will feature aeroplanes. Not all the time, but it will be an ever-present.

This delightful de Havilland DH84A Dragon (G-ECAN, c/n 2048) made a rare appearance at Shuttleworth last summer for the DH Moth Centenary event - but as a fun fact it was built by De Havilland Australia for the RAAF and registered A34-59.

You can probably count the amount of airworthy Dragons on one hand (just three perhaps? Someone will correct me I’m sure).
