BURLEY HOUSE FROM ABOVE — 320 YEARS OF RUTLAND HISTORY!

Today I took the drone out to capture some aerial photographs of the incredible Burley House here in Rutland.

And before anyone asks — the drone was taken off from a public footpath accessed from the main road, not from the Burley House estate or private land.

Standing proudly on the hill, the present house dates back to the late 1600s/early 1700s, with construction beginning around 1694 and the magnificent house being completed around 1705.

That means when you're looking at Burley House, you're looking at a piece of Rutland history that's over 320 years old!

From ground level you can appreciate the incredible architecture, but from the air you get to see the bigger picture — the house, the surrounding countryside and the historic landscape that has developed around it over the last three centuries.

This is exactly why I love drone photography. It gives us the opportunity to see familiar places from a completely different perspective.

Good evening everyone!

Today I was on a rare outing with the extended family, attending a village fete in Harby. While I was there, I suddenly heard some tractors in the distance.

Well… you can probably guess what happened next!

I quickly ran across the field, got the drone prepped and up into the air, and managed to capture what I could of the Owthorpe Tractor Run, which was raising money to help with repairs to the village hall.

This is exactly why I always like to have the drone nearby. You just never know what you’re going to stumble across!

I absolutely love this type of content because it’s completely natural. No planning, no organising a shoot — just spotting something happening and getting the drone up to capture it from a different perspective.

Rutland Water from a completely different perspective!

Tonight I headed up to Hambleton with the drone to capture this view of Rutland Water as the evening light started to settle over the landscape.

I think aerial footage really gives you a different appreciation of just how beautiful Rutland is.

Please note: The drone did not take off or land within Rutland Water’s boundaries. The flight was conducted from a suitable location outside the boundary.

This is a panosphere 360° shot taken from 120 metres (400ft) above Stamford on Sunday, giving you a completely different perspective of this beautiful historic town.

From up there, you really get to appreciate just how much of Stamford you can see — and some of the landmarks look completely different from the air!

STAMFORD FROM A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE!

Yesterday, while I was at the Stamford Round Table Classic Car Show on The Meadows, I had the perfect opportunity to take to the skies and capture something a little different.

The cars were the main attraction… but once I had the drone up, I couldn’t resist showing off the incredible views of Stamford from above!

From historic churches and iconic landmarks to Stamford Bridge and even a glimpse across part of the Burghley House grounds from a distance, these photographs really show just how beautiful Stamford looks from the air.

Sometimes you can live, work or visit somewhere for years and never truly appreciate what’s right on your doorstep until you see it from a completely different angle.

Following on from the Panosphere 360° shot earlier, I now present some of the pictures I captured from the Stamford Round Table 611 Classic Car Show on The Meadows in Stamford.

What a fantastic and well-run event this was! The atmosphere was brilliant, everyone was in high spirits, and there was a fantastic turnout of classic cars and visitors.

There were so many great cars to choose from, it was certainly a challenge deciding which ones to photograph from the air and from the ground!

I’d also like to say a very special thank you to RAF Wittering for allowing me to carry out my drone flight within their Flight Restriction Zone. Having the opportunity to capture an event like this from a completely different perspective is something I really appreciate.
