Black, ’til death & wildflowers 🌿

I don’t think Beth & Mitchell’s wedding could have been described any better.

A little bit gothic, a little bit wild and completely full of joy.

Black details filled Crathorne Hall Hotel, Yarm sunflowers and wildflowers brought all the colour, and then there was Beth in the most incredible dress with a sheer veil scattered with colourful embroidered flowers. The whole thing just felt completely, unapologetically them. 🥲

But beyond all the gorgeous details, this day was SO much fun. So much love, so much laughter and two people who quite clearly just adore each other.

We finished the day by escaping everyone for a little while and basically running around the grounds of Crathorne Hall together, no stiff posing, no taking them away from their wedding for hours. Just the two of them being completely themselves while I followed along with my camera.

My absolute favourite kind of wedding. 🖤

Some wedding days just feel like summer 🌿

And Lucy & Ben’s was absolutely one of them.

There was blue skies, a classic VW camper which I was obviously obsessed with and everyone spilling outside into the sunshine at one of my absolute favourite wedding venues The Pumping House • Ollerton 🥲

Lucy & Ben’s whole day was just so lovely. Relaxed, so so happy and full of those little in-between moments that are always my favourite to capture. The ones that happen when everyone’s having far too lovely a time to notice there’s a camera around.

Nothing forced. Nothing overly complicated. Just a really lovely wedding from start to finish 🫶🏻

A wedding in a brewery 🍻

Melissa & Jacob got married at Chapter Hall at Northern Monk Refectory LDS and I think this wedding might have contained more ways to cause absolute chaos amongst your guests than any I’ve photographed 😅

There was a peg game with one very simple aim: attach as many pegs to unsuspecting people as possible without them noticing. A temporary tattoo station. A five person ski shot which inevitably ended with the shortest person wearing half the Tequila Rose. And then a huge game of Bongo’s Bingo complete with some truly questionable prizes 🫶🏻

But tucked amongst all of that chaos were Melissa & Jacob. Laughing their way through the whole thing, disappearing outside with me for a handful of photos in the sunshine, then heading straight back in to celebrate with all their favourite people 🥲

Exactly my kind of wedding, really. Less worrying about what a wedding is supposed to look like, more filling it with things you actually love.

“Yellow is my favourite colour.” 🌿

And Lydia & Andrew’s wedding might just be proof that more weddings need a little sunshine woven through them. And the actual sunshine got the memo too ☀️

A gorgeous day at East Riddlesden Hall Weddings there were pops of Lydia’s favourite yellow throughout, lawn games from Yorkshire Games Hire drinks in the sunshine, lemons and so much laughter 🍋

I was only with Lydia & Andrew for a small handful of hours, but those hours were absolutely full of love.

And I got to spend it working alongside my favourite person Connor Walsh - Acoustic Wedding Singer which always makes a lovely day that little bit lovelier 🥲

Proof, I think, that you don’t always need a full day of photography to tell the story of a wedding. Sometimes a few joy filled hours are more than enough.
