So, it’s World Alzheimer’s Month, and we’ve been planning something very special ✨

This September, we want to champion the importance of authentic dementia consultancy in storytelling. For us, meaningful dementia narratives can only be truly informed by lived experience.

That’s why earlier this year we were so proud to welcome The Traitors winner Rachel Duffy to Henry House, our care home comedy drama, as a Story Consultant 💬

After recently losing a loved one to dementia, Rachel brings an invaluable personal perspective to the project and we are so lucky to be working with her 🥰

She continues to work closely with our writer as well as our rising star Órla Jones, becoming a huge support to Órla as she looks to lead Henry House to series 💚

But no two dementia experiences are the same and the range of lived experience among our Story Consultants should reflect that.

Which leads us nicely on to another announcement we’ve been waiting a little while to make, and one all you EastEnders fans will like. So, just who has left Albert Square and is on their way to Henry House? 📺

When a Traitors winner backs your rising star, people take notice… 💚

Following their recent front cover feature for Shropshire Magazine, we’re delighted to see Rachel Duffy’s support for our Henry House rising star Órla Jones celebrated again.

Rachel joined our care home comedy drama as a Story Consultant earlier this year and completely fell for our main character, Izzy Orchard, from the moment she read the script.

So much so she travelled all the way from Ireland to nearby Iscoyd Park, where we filmed our pilot episode, just to meet the undiscovered leading lady bringing Izzy to life ✨

Rachel’s belief in Órla has been so special to watch from the minute they met. It’s lovely to see that same warmth and enthusiasm continue to be reflected in all the coverage around them now too.

Shooting your own short film from scratch? Completed it, mate ✅

In just four short weeks, ten young people with SEND (most with no filmmaking experience at all) have gone from a blank page to having their own short film shot and in the can 🎥

Yesterday, they pulled everything together for one brilliant day on set. It was an ambitious challenge, but with the right support, space and opportunity, our young filmmakers absolutely rose to the occasion.

But a special mention has to go to The New Saints FC for giving the group such a supportive and inclusive location to bring their film to life 🙌

Huge thanks to PACC too for trusting us with their young creatives for another summer of filmmaking. The confidence, creativity and personality they’ve brought to the process has been brilliant to watch ❤️

They even got to direct their own director in the wrap photo… can you tell? 😂

And we’re not quite finished yet. Next week: the edit! 💻

Rocking Horse Media and Lane Shaw Academy are joining forces for one day only! 🎬

We’ll be teaming up with Paula Lane and Tom Shaw’s fabulous drama academy for its Summer Blast on Thursday 27th August, giving their young performers the chance to get behind and in front of the camera 🎥

In doing so, we’re delighted to be reuniting with the legendary Paula Lane once again, following our first collab on short film Holly & Ivy, and bringing a little bit of Rocking Horse filmmaking to the academy for the afternoon ✨

The Summer Blast takes place at Hebden Bridge LittleTheatre and is open to everyone aged 5–16, whether they already attend Lane Shaw Academy or not. Fancy getting involved? Get in touch with Lane Shaw Academy for more info! 🎭

Yesterday marked another big step for our PACC Healthy Lives summer short film programme, as weeks of planning by our young creatives with SEND started turning into something real.

These three young talents headed outside in the sunshine at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings for their first rehearsal, while the rest of the group got to work on wardrobe and set design ☀️

Next stop: filming on location next week! 🎥📍

You’ve seen the cover. Now for the bits you didn’t see… 😂

Traitors winner Rachel Duffy joined Henry House — our care home comedy-drama project — earlier this year. But this photo shoot for Shropshire Magazine was the very special day she finally met our leading lady, Órla Jones 💚

They hit it off immediately. Can you tell? It’s a miracle we got any work done at all 🙈

By the end of the day they were borderline inseparable — and Rachel had become our rising star’s biggest champion.

As these unseen moments demonstrate, the glossy magazine photographs were only part of the fun that day. Laughter, banter, clapperboards and chaos — Henry House style 📸

And this particular double act is only just getting started.

One in front of the camera playing Henry House’s biggest character; the other behind it helping shape her story as a Story Consultant. What a duo we have on our hands 🎬

Two faces you’re going to be seeing a lot more of as we look towards the future of Henry House.

REMEMBERING JOSEPH McGRAIL-BATEUP

This is a post no one would ever wish to write. We are deeply saddened to share that on Friday 31 July, our much-loved Henry House Executive Producer, Joseph McGrail-Bateup passed away unexpectedly.

We waited until we had the blessing of Jo’s beloved daughter, Audrey, before paying our respects publicly. It is to Audrey — of whom Jo was so very proud — that our hearts and thoughts turn now.

On 2 May this year, Jo broke the Guinness World Record for the loudest shout, earning worldwide attention for a remarkable achievement that felt entirely fitting for a man whose personality and presence reached far beyond his home in Australia.

Alongside Audrey and his good friend Sue Brown Ralph, Jo made an extraordinarily generous donation during our BounceBack campaign, helping to save Henry House when we needed it most.

That support earned him the opportunity to become an Executive Producer on our care home comedy-drama — a title he carried with enormous pride.

Audrey told us that he loved being part of the show. Well, the show loved him right back. Thanks for everything, Jo.

Tomorrow, another summer of filmmaking begins with PACC. But who will be on the poster this time? 👀

A year ago, ten young people created a short film from the ground up — developing the idea, shaping the story, performing on camera and taking on roles behind the scenes. Most of them had never even done anything like it before 🎬

But what made their experience all the more special was that they chose to explore something that genuinely mattered to them: how autistic young people can feel viewed and misunderstood by society.

Putting those authentic experiences on screen genuinely helped the group feel heard — and even helped people within their own support networks understand them better 💬

So tonight, we’re throwing it back to last summer’s cast and crew while showing this year’s young filmmakers what their own ideas could become when that first session begins tomorrow ✨

The journey to our next “PACC Healthy Lives presents” poster is about to begin. Who’s ready to join us at Shrewsbury Flaxmill in the morning? 🤩

“Órla Jones is definitely the heart of the show for me.” ❤️

Those are the words of The Traitors winner Rachel Duffy, speaking about the exciting rising star leading our upcoming care home comedy-drama, Henry House.

Rachel first joined the project as a Story Consultant, bringing her own lived experience of dementia to help shape the story with authenticity. But it was after falling in love with the script and its wonderfully chaotic main character, Izzy Orchard, that everything changed 🌿

So moved was Rachel by the story and Izzy herself that she travelled all the way from Ireland to where Henry House was filmed — just to spend the day with Órla Jones, the as-yet undiscovered actress who brought her to life.

As they explored the locations together at the idyllic Iscoyd Park in Shropshire, Rachel discovered the person behind the character she’d fallen in love with 📖

By the end of the day, Rachel wasn’t simply praising Órla’s performance. She was calling her “the heart of the show” and saying how integral she is to its future. It’s a moment we’re incredibly proud to now share through this next month’s cover feature in Shropshire Magazine.

If this journey has taught us anything, it’s never to underestimate Órla Jones.

Her resilience — as much as her talent — has led us through setbacks no low-budget local pilot has any right to survive. If anyone has earned the chance to take Henry House all the way, it’s our leading lady ⛰️

We can’t wait to see where that journey takes her and her beloved Henry House next 💚
