Being me, I had 5 minutes spare so had a go at demonstrating the difference time has given us. You can pick out and see what has changed over the decades!

Not an exact match but not bad flown from memory. For legal reasons I'm at a lower altitude, the focal length is different of course but you get the idea 🙂🙏⛅

Pitney, seen from above. This time a more comprehensive view of the village.

Lisa Walker was correct with her guess yesterday 🙌🙂💪 this is indeed the village of Pitney, near Somerton. There's a lovely farm shop, and a good pub there, making Pitney well worth a visit.

Pitney boasts evidence of settlement from as far back as the Bronze Age, and there have been Roman finds there also.

The British Museum plays host to a find known as "The Pitney Brooch", a Saxon, cast bronze brooch.

Pitney is recorded in the Domesday book as "Petenie" which supports an Old English meaning of "the traversing stream".

Sunnier evenings recently (26th of May) gave me a chance to record some lovely scenes. Combe Hill woods and a brief view above Somerton. I thought I'd take the chance to share these views with you as I trawl back through my catalogue ⛅🙌🙏

The view of Bruton in Somerset as I showcase the area, before sunset paints the sky ⛅❤️🙌
