Arthur made this yellow saphire cast engagement ring and gold band for his wife Judith in the mid 1950's. She was the only woman ever in his life. It was not hallmarked. The assay office told me many goldsmiths who made their own wedding rings never got round to doing this. Sheffield Assay Office kindly marked it posthumously.

12cm wide by 15cm high perspex free-standing clock, which Arthur made several of. The electric movement encased at the rear is a Smith's Tuning Fork Movement' which was based on a Bulova patent (Accutron) of 1953. This was the forerunner of modern quartz Movements. It was around this time Arthur went into horology including designing unique movements.

Sketch work by Arthur, no doubt in the Victoria and Albert museum where he spent hours drawing in his student years at the RCA. Ink line work was his chosen media despite being unforgiving! Birds seem appropriate just now as they all seem to be singing at dawn!
