Test Valley Wildlife

Test Valley Wildlife A showcase of wildlife images taken in Hampshire's beautiful Test Valley. I have lived in the village of Overton in Hampshire since 2011.

My name is Deb Heath - I am a primary school teacher by profession but recently have been spending most of my time as an enthusiastic wildlife photographer. I love being out in the country; if you are quiet and observant, you are rewarded with the many and beautiful sights that the English countryside has to offer.

It's not often I photograph a Rabbit, but as this one sat in front of me it seemed rude not to!

It's not often that you spot a Fallow doe and her fawn that hang around long enough to get out of the car and photograph them! I've included both pictures because the second shows the doe's lovely tan and spotty coat and her tail as she turns; the fawn is melanistic - she has very dark pelage.

Make sure you keep your bird baths full - even over night! I have 2 regular visitors who happily crunch up Tess' dog biscuits and drink.. last night one was waiting by the lavender when I came to put the kibbles and trailcam out!

Look at those back legs... And that's how they can run so fast!!
