Test Valley Wildlife

Test Valley Wildlife A showcase of wildlife images taken in Hampshire's beautiful Test Valley. I have lived in the village of Overton in Hampshire since 2011.

My name is Deb Heath - I am a primary school teacher by profession but recently have been spending most of my time as an enthusiastic wildlife photographer. I love being out in the country; if you are quiet and observant, you are rewarded with the many and beautiful sights that the English countryside has to offer.

It's no wonder so many hares get knocked down when they just like to play in the road!

Well this was rather special! I spotted this Roe doe and her kid hidden in on the edge of a crop early this morning, luckily they came out into the open in front of me. The kid can only be a few days old. The kid is left for periods of time whilst mum feeds... its spotty coat helps with camouflage. If you see one, NEVER touch it as mum won't be far away and she will abandon it if it smells of humans.

Sit back and enjoy 2 minutes of mindfulness: Birds singing, owls hooting and badgers, being badgers!

I spent a lovely hour watching badgers yesterday. Love or loathe them, they are amazing looking animals. Some came out before sunset, others waited until the sun had gone down. I had to change to making video clips as it got so dark - I'll share those when I have sorted them
