Today, 25th April 2026, marks the centenary of the first performance of Puccini’s Turandot at La Scala, Milan. This most beloved of operas is a firm favourite at Scriptum and can often be heard in the shop — though today we have had it playing from opening to closing. The composer’s glorious orchestral palette is simply irresistible.

To mark the occasion, we have created a range of beautiful products: notebooks, journals, greeting cards and bookmarks, alongside limited edition framed prints, and specially made inks.

This year marks one hundred years since Puccini’s death. His operas have been the soundtrack of Scriptum for the past twenty years and they have inspired us to present a unique range of beautiful new products.

With our UK ink supplier we have created four new shades to match the emotions of Puccini’s operas. In our Italian workshop we have produced a range of leather notebooks and bookmarks featuring his greatest arias. With Tuscan artisans we have created Puccini bookends, busts and statuettes. There are several other products to discover, with more to come.
