This is the fairytale beach in Cornwall that nearly ended in a tragic horror story over the bank holiday weekend.

Crowds who'd come along to see the boats up close for the BH weekend ended up watching a real live rescue instead.

On the 29th August, Penlee RNLI were called out twice within ONE hour. First to Kynance, where a group had been cut off by the tide, then, while the lifeboat was still en route, a second call came in... and five more people were cut off at Chapel Rock. This time the Coastguard helicopter was deployed and winched them straight off the rocks.

Everyone made it home safe, thankfully. But these changing tides catch SO many holiday makers (and seasoned locals) out.

If you're exploring any of Cornwall's beauty spots this autumn - we urge you to check the tide times before you go. It closes in faster than you think it will. We rescue floating belongings and shoes from our beaches from the changing tides almost daily...

A tip if you love Cornwall but hate the common crowds- visit the Lizard Peninsula for more peace and tranquility.

Uncrowded and full of little lesser known gems and traditional fishing harbours such as Mullion, Cadgwith, places that literally look like you're abroad like Kynance Cove, and THE BEST local crab sandwiches!

Yes, you could head to Cornwall's Folk Festival this weekend in Wadebridge...
.but why would you when you can attend this 'random act of art', dragging a fake poo along to stand up to South West Water, Cornwall Council and Treveth?

The organisers explained: "The protest is over what can be built on the site above St Antony's Garden where Treveth, a company 99 per cent owned by Cornwall Council, have spent ยฃ3.6 million on making the garden step free. The second phase of the proposed development promised 11 affordable homes alongside market value ones, but then went back on that promise โ€ฆ though retaining the premium penthouses."
