Wed 17th Sept 25: Summer Challenge Competition Night.
Great evening seeing our members entries this competition - themed "Summer Events". Judged by our own Phil Newport (the penalty for winning it last season 😀), who spoke with interest, constructive comments, humour and with an appreciation of the efforts of our photographers.
We saw Gelt sports, kids with lego, rain - plenty of rain! - dance, car shows, Appleby horse fair, "Dads in sacks", flowers, summer concerts, airshows, and 1940s days. Great variety and brilliant shooting.
Phil judged keenly, with one eye on sticking to the theme, and a few others on technical merit, moment, lighting and composition. Arriving at some 14 entries with top marks, and the winner of the Summer Challenge Cup: Nick Tippey’s "Fell Racers"
