Hi, I'm Micah. I’m an adventure and conservation photographer based near Dunkeld, Scotland. I take photos of landscapes, wildlife, and people.

I sell prints and images, write blogs, love adventures, and this year I will be running my first workshops.

Sunset above Ala-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan. Multiple bracketed shots taken from my drone, then stitched into one big panorama.

This was one of the highlights of my trip. The day had been a hard hike into altitude. As sunset approached, we threw our drones up high, hoping for some sunset colours to light up the cold rock faces. As we did, fog started to roll up the valley, partially covering our views. But from above, the views were pretty special 👌🏻. Within a few minutes the moment had passed. We sat in the piercing silence, looking at the views on our little controller screens and soaking up the vastness of the view.

Special times in this very special place. 🇰🇬

Faces of Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬. Some welcomed, others were suspicious, some laughed and joked around, some played or turned away-but every face told a story.

I like to capture portraits with a telephoto lens, that allows more chance of a natural shot. I played a bit with the monochromatic edit too, as find it can simplify the view and focus the subject.

Thunder clouds roll in over the vast grasslands, or ‘steppes’ as they are known in Kyrgyzstan. We were hoping for some golden light on the nearby mountain peaks, but it was the views east that caught my attention first. The setting sun turned these clouds into golds and tones of brown - turning the entire sky into abstract painting 👌🏻.

Mountain reflections. Peak Yeltsin basks in the morning glow; a silent authority over our peaceful camp. The night before we had watched the Milky Way move unchecked behind the silhouette of this massive peak. This place was something special. An open wilderness; silent, untouched and unchecked in its magnificence.

Take me back….👌🏻

Faces of Kyrgyzstan. Children on horseback rode to meet us as we emerged from our tents and into the cold air of altitude.

Twisting and turning they toyed confidently with the reigns of their horses, curious of our presence amongst their mountainous home.

I’ve been slowly working through my 6000+ images shot in Kyrgyzstan and picking my best to edit. This photograph does a lot to encapsulate some my some of my strongest feelings from this incredible country; wilderness, mountains, and wide open spaces

Trees reflect the calm of Loch Insh. There had been a good bit of snowfall in the Cairngorms going into last weekend, but nce the latest storm had blown through there was a brief calm before the winds picked up again.

Much of my photography is carefully planned, however, sometimes I just happen to be in the right place at the right time - as was the case here, passing through👌🏻
