Title: A Quiet Becoming

Light finds them as if by memory,
slipping through the canopy
to rest upon pale skin and trembling leaves.

They stand together,
not identical,
but bound in the same upward reaching…
two voices growing from one silence.

Around them, the forest remains unchanged,
dark, watchful, enduring.

Yet here, in this small clearing of gold,
something stirs…
a soft insistence of life,
unfolding without hurry,
becoming what it was always meant to be.

Title: “Where the Light Hesitates”

The path is there, but it does not invite.
Light gathers ahead, as if deciding whether to stay or retreat.
Between the trunks, silence settles into something heavier… not absence, but presence waiting to be understood.

Title: “It Waits in the Trees”

You don’t notice it at first.

Just another shape in the dark,
another branch twisting into nothing.

But the longer you look,
the more it gathers itself—
quiet, patient…
as if it has always been there,
waiting for you to see it.

Title: Where Spring Takes Hold

A fallen limb gathers light,
its weathered bark softened by moss and time.
Around it, bluebells rise in quiet chorus,
lifting colour into the woodland air.

Decay and renewal sit side by side,
not in contrast, but in rhythm—
a gentle reminder that even what has fallen
still belongs to the living wood.

Woodland Conversation

In the quiet of the woodland floor, two bluebells catch the last warmth of evening light.
For a moment they lean toward one another, suspended between shadow and sun, as spring slowly awakens beneath the trees.

Where the Roots Hold Fast

Roots spread across the woodland slope, gripping the earth where time and weather have slowly worn it away. Moss softens the bark of an old tree while, beneath the fallen leaves, the first green shoots appear; a quiet promise that the woodland is stirring once more.

Still Living - Winter pares the woodland back to its essentials. Beneath fallen leaves and softened light, life continues quietly, not in bloom or display, but in patience, endurance, and time.

Old Sulehay Woods in the Fog emerges through moments of concealment and quiet revelation. The fog veils the woodland, softening form and distance, allowing subtle gestures to surface—arching branches, moss-bound roots, fading paths, and the glowing presence of fungi. These elements speak of age, endurance, and renewal. The series asks the viewer to slow their pace and enter the woodland as a passage rather than a destination, shaped by time, moisture, and remembered seasons.
