Absolutely buzzing! I had a very lucky brief meeting with this beauty at Nene Park Trust. I was just sitting on "kingfisher bench" talking to my 3 yr old about blackberries, waiting for the kingfisher to come back. I just glanced across the river ... and to my astonishment this beautiful otter was staring back at me! He stood still just long enough for me to get these few shots before slipping into the water.

Been away from photography for a while. So here's a kingfisher from today! Best ever photo I've got of one of these guys. We've struggled to spot them in their usual haunts the last few months. Then today there were 2 in the same tree!

One thing I've noticed is the lack of cygnets this year. Have spoken to many others and they've all said the same thing. In Spring we saw lots of swans building nests and incubating eggs. Some have said the few that they had seen have disappeared. So imagine my excitement when I finally saw my first cygnets of the year. So happy to see this little family.

Spotted this guy flitting about in the reeds while I was photographing the buzzards (which I posted a few days ago). Amazed I managed to capture this reed warbler as he was very quick. Only sat still long enough for these 2 shots.
