April was a complete whirlwind, and for once, I wasn't just the one behind the camera! From saying "I do" to finally getting some updated headshots, I've spent more time in front of the lens this month than I have in the last ten years.
I figured it was the perfect time to step out from behind the gimbal for a little "Meet the Maker" interview so you can get to know the person who will be documenting your love story.
Why the sudden move to the other side of the lens?
Practicing what I preach! I'm always telling my couples to be present and soak it in, so I headed to Scottsdale to let the amazing work her magic. She made me feel so comfortable, which is exactly what I strive to do for my clients.
We heard you had a big milestone this month, too?
Yes! I officially traded the 'videographer' title for 'groom' for a day. I married my husband at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens, and it was a dream. Having there to capture it was a masterclass in why professional imagery matters. Seeing how she worked made me even more excited to get back to filming my own couples!
How has being a groom changed how you film weddings?
It reminded me that the 'small' moments-the way your partner's hand shakes or the quiet gasp when you see the gardens-are actually the biggest moments. I don't just want to film what your wedding looked like; I want to film what it felt like.
What's the most rewarding part of the job?
Sending over that final edit and hearing that the couple cried happy tears while watching it. Knowing I've preserved those memories forever is the ultimate win.
I'm so ready to take everything | learned as a groom this April and pour it into your 2026 wedding films. Whether you're getting married in a garden or a ballroom, I can't wait to tell your story.
