“Emma was amazing throughout the whole process.

Having a consultation and step by step guidance before had was so reassuring. Communication leading up the photoshoot was great, giving me a styling guide and talking through outfit choices which was constantly on my mind and was put at ease.

On the day it was seamless. I felt like a celebrity with so much attention, having my hair and make up done by a wonderful team of ladies along side Emma boosted my confidence behind the camera which wasn’t there before.

Emma had excellent knowledge of poses and what would look great.

Trust the process as it gives you so much empowerment seeing the final results. Which came so quickly after.

She was also amazing with my family, my son loved her and clicked with her.

Emma was not just a photographer, she was a cheerleader, confidence builder and a friend.

Now to make my house a home with these fabulous pictures! Eternally great full.” - H

It started in my old bedroom at my parents’ house.

Then I moved into my first home and decided to make space for the business there.

A camera, some lights, a few backdrops… and a lot of figuring it out as I went.

Except “making space” sometimes meant completely rearranging the room before every shoot. Moving furniture. Clearing corners. Setting everything up. Then putting it all back again afterwards.

It wasn’t big.

It wasn’t glamorous.

But it was mine.

And slowly, the business grew.

So when we moved house, I knew I wanted to do things differently.

I wanted a space that was made for the work.

A space where I could walk in and create without first moving half the house.

A space where my clients could arrive and immediately feel like they had stepped into an experience that had been created with them in mind.

So I created my own studio.

And honestly, sometimes I look around and think about that little bedroom at my parents’ house.

The photographer who was just starting out.

Who had no idea where this would take her.

Who was making it work with whatever space she had.

And I’m really proud of her.

Because this studio isn’t just a room.

It’s a reminder of every version of my business that came before it.

The tiny spaces.
The furniture moving.
The late nights.
The figuring-it-out-as-I-went.

And the fact that I kept going.

This is what building a business actually looks like.

Not one giant leap.

Just one small space, one decision and one step forward at a time. 🖤

Your photographs deserve to leave the screen.

One of the things I want you to think about when planning your photoshoot is **what you actually want to do with your photographs afterwards.**

Because your images aren’t meant to live forever in a folder on your phone, waiting for you to get around to printing them.

Wall art gives your favourite photographs a place in your home where you can see them every day.

A portrait of you that reminds you how good you felt.

Your children, exactly as they are right now.

Your family together, rather than everyone always being behind the camera.

Or simply a photograph that makes you stop for a second and think, *I love this.*

During your session, we can talk about where you’d like your photographs to live and what would work in your home. I can help you choose the right image, size and finish, so you’re not left trying to figure it all out afterwards.

**The gallery is the beginning. The finished artwork is what you get to live with.**

If you’re considering a photoshoot, let’s create something you’ll actually want to put on your walls.

When was the last time you did something just for you?

Not because your children needed it.

Not because your business needed it.

Not because someone else asked.

Not because it was practical.

Just because **you wanted to.**

It’s so easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list.

I’ll do it when I have more time.

When the kids are older.

When work calms down.

When I’ve lost some weight.

When I feel more confident.

But what if you stopped waiting?

What if you let yourself have the thing simply because it makes you feel good?

You don’t need permission to take up a little more space in your own life.

August, you’ve been a good one. 🤍

What an incredible summer it’s been.

The last few weeks have been a mix of amazing photoshoots, beach days with my boy, a little bit of me time, celebrating family milestones and making memories that I know I’ll look back on for years to come.

I’ve worked with some brilliant women this month and honestly, I’ve loved every minute of being behind the camera again.

But I’ve also made sure there’s been plenty of time away from work. Slow days. Family days. Days where the only plan was getting to the beach and enjoying being together.

There’s been a lot to celebrate — and a lot to look forward to as well.

So here’s my little August dump before we head into September.

Feeling very grateful for this summer, my family, my work and everything that’s coming next. ✨

One of the questions I get asked before a branding session is:

**“What am I supposed to wear?”**

And honestly? You don’t need to reinvent yourself for your photoshoot.

The best outfits are usually the ones you already feel good in.

Think about what your clients are used to seeing you wear, what feels natural to your business and what you actually want to be photographed in.

You can bring different looks too — something more polished, something relaxed, something that shows a bit more of your personality.

Because your branding photographs shouldn’t create a version of you that doesn’t exist.

They should make it easier for your ideal clients to **see you, recognise you and connect with you.**

And please don’t go out and buy an entirely new wardrobe just for your shoot.

If you wouldn’t normally wear it, you probably won’t feel like yourself in it.

Save this for when you’re planning your next branding session 🤍

**And if you’re ready for photographs that actually feel like you, send me a message and let’s chat.**

You are allowed to spend money on yourself.

I know.

It can feel uncomfortable.

Especially when you’re used to spending money on everyone else.

The children.

The house.

Birthdays.

Holidays.

Your business.

Everyone seems to have a reason why they need something.

And yours?

It can feel like the easiest one to put off.

But doing something for yourself doesn’t make you selfish.

Buying something because it makes you feel good doesn’t need to be justified by how useful it is.

Sometimes you can simply say:

**“I wanted this.”**

And that’s enough.

You don’t have to earn the right to do something for yourself.

You already have it.

You are allowed to change your mind about who you are.

The woman you were at 25 doesn’t have to be the woman you are at 35.

And the woman you are at 35 doesn’t have to be the woman you become at 45.

You can change your career.

Start a business.

Become a mum.

Decide you want something different.

Change your style.

Want more.

Want less.

Start again.

You don’t have to have one fixed version of yourself figured out.

You’re allowed to evolve.

And sometimes, having photographs taken can be a really lovely way of marking that shift.

Not because you’ve reached the finish line.

But because you recognise:

**I’m not who I was anymore.**

And that’s something worth celebrating.

You don’t need to feel confident before you have your photograph taken.

Actually, most women who step in front of my camera don’t.

They tell me they’re nervous.
That they hate having their photo taken.
That they don’t know how to pose.
That they’re worried they’ll feel awkward.

And that’s okay.

You don’t have to arrive confident.

You just have to arrive.

I’ll guide you through the rest — what to do, where to stand, where to look, how to move.

And somewhere along the way, something shifts.

You stop worrying about the camera.

You start seeing yourself.

And sometimes you leave thinking:

**“Maybe I do like having my photograph taken after all.”**

That’s the part of my job I love.

I’ve used portraits of myself for years to understand the different seasons of my life.

When I look back at those photographs, I can feel who I was.

Not just what I looked like.

That’s one of the reasons I photograph women.

Because I know what it feels like to not always recognise yourself.

To compare yourself.

To feel disconnected from your body.

To have days when confidence comes easily — and days when it doesn’t.

So I don’t photograph women because I think we should all feel confident all the time.

I photograph women because “we deserve to be seen in all of those moments.”

You don’t have to wait until you feel ready.
