⚓️ A Piece of Swansea Maritime History ⚓️
Seamark seen here tonight on her last ever voyage sailing to be recycled.
Built in 1959 by P.K. Harris & Sons Ltd of Appledore, Seamark is believed to be the longest-serving pilot cutter in the UK. From 1959 to 2002, she faithfully guided ships in and out of Swansea, becoming a familiar sight in local waters.
Not only was Seamark renowned for her remarkable service life, but she was also the largest pilot cutter in the UK to regularly go alongside vessels at sea—a testament to her strength, capability, and the skill of her crews.
A true icon of British maritime heritage. ⚓️🌊
