So lately I’ve been struggling with both my physical health as well as my mental health, they kind of go hand in hand to be honest, but through all of this the one thing that has kept me grounded is my photography.
I know I am not the worlds greatest photographer, but I enjoy what I’m doing, it’s making me think more, appreciate what camera kit I have and because it’s not the latest lenses or latest camera body it means I have to think about not only my composition but what I want the final image to be like, and I don’t like to do a lot of editing I try to get it as close as I can in camera.
Also I used to try and take images just to please other people and stand by whatever they said good or bad, the problem with that was I soon fell out of love with photography and I did lose my mojo for a while, I’m lucky because my biggest fans are my family and close friends, the positivity shown to me by them was amazing and when I sat down and talked to my biggest fan and support role model, my Cariad she said “what do you like about your photography?”
Where do you want to go with it?”
BUT the biggest question she asked me was this
“When you take an image of a person,a waterfall,or a cow in the middle of some field somewhere, who did you take that photo for, if it was for myself then the only things I need to worry about is do I like them, it’s not about what someone else likes it’s what you like”
She was right , as always, so now if I upload an image and someone does not like it then that’s fine I didn’t take it for you it’s my image taken how I like it and if you disagree then that’s fine by me , I can’t please everyone
