A striking black-and-white maternity portrait combining femininity, confidence and the beauty of pregnancy. Flowing black ruffles, delicate blossom and a beautifully exposed bump create a dramatic fine-art finish.
Maternity photography doesn't have to mean standing perfectly posed in a pretty dress. It can be elegant, romantic, powerful, intimate - or something with a little more attitude.
I love the contrast in this portrait. The dramatic black gown and flowing train frame mum's body, while her bare bump remains the focus. Removing the colour strips everything back to shape, texture, light and connection.
Throughout this collection we've created rich colours, fitted lace, soft florals, flowing gowns, bare-bump portraits and timeless black and white.

I love colour, but sometimes taking it away completely creates something even more powerful.
For this portrait, the contrast between the delicate black lace and soft white blossom draws attention straight to mum's beautiful bump. Without colour competing for attention, the textures, curves, light and expression become the focus.
Maternity photography can be soft and romantic, bold and colourful, intimate or dramatic - and you don't have to choose just one.

Those little kicks, wriggles and movements are part of a relationship that begins long before you finally get to hold your baby in your arms.
This portrait is deliberately simple and timeless. The fitted white lace gown beautifully shows the shape of mum's bump, while the soft white blossom frames her without taking the attention away from that quiet connection.

Pin and Pose will be closed from Tuesday 8th September through to Tuesday 15th September inclusive.

During this time I will be taking a complete break from work, so calls, texts, emails and social media messages will not be answered.

There is something beautifully symbolic about combining maternity photography with nature - new growth surrounding a mum who is growing something pretty incredible herself.

Every mum deserves to feel like a queen - especially while she's growing a whole new little person.
I wanted this portrait to feel soft, elegant and completely different from the fitted lace maternity looks.
The flowing tulle gown gently frames mum's bump rather than hiding it, while the neutral tones and layers of pampas create depth and softness around her. And, of course, sometimes a maternity portrait simply needs a crown.
One of the things I love about maternity sessions is being able to create completely different looks for the same mum. You don't have to choose between soft and romantic, bold and colourful, or something a little more dramatic - we can create a varied collection during your session.

Before you ever see their face, you already know them in a way nobody else does.
This is one of the things I love most about maternity photography - capturing that connection that already exists long before baby arrives.
This portrait is intentionally softer and more natural than some of the colourful maternity images I've shared. The neutral styling and delicate foliage allow mum's bare bump to become the centre of the photograph, with her hands gently framing the little person she's waiting to meet.
Maternity sessions at Pin and Pose aren't about creating one particular "look". We can create a varied collection during your session, from beautiful fitted gowns and rich colours to softer, more intimate portraits like this one.
