Just a little reminder from your local photographer (a moan).
When you book ANY session, you’re not paying for “just one photo” or “a click of a button”.
You’re paying for:
• Years of experience
• Professional cameras, lenses, lighting & editing software
• A fully equipped studio setup
• Time planning, setting up, shooting, editing & retouching
• The knowledge of posing, lighting and making everyone feel comfortable
No session is a “walk-in, walk-out, 5-minute job”.
Before you even arrive, the studio is prepared and set up, ready for your session. During the shoot, lots of images may be taken to capture genuine smiles, good expressions and the perfect moment.
Then comes the editing… and THAT is where the real time goes.
Photography editing is so much more than “adding a filter”. It can include:
• Face swaps because someone blinked
• Removing reflections or equipment from the eyes
• Softening scars, blemishes & imperfections
• Whitening teeth
• Adjusting lighting & skin tones
• Removing distractions, the camera picks up that the human eye doesn’t even notice
The camera sees EVERYTHING.
What looks simple in a finished image is often hours of skilled work behind the scenes to create a polished final photograph you’ll treasure for years.
Every trade deserves respect, and photography is no different. We are not charging for one photo — we are charging for the time, skill, creativity, equipment and experience it takes to create it.
Thank you to the clients who continue to support, respect and value small creative businesses like mine. It never goes unnoticed.
If you are simply looking for the cheapest option, then honestly I am probably not the photographer for you — and that’s okay.
I don’t compete on being the cheapest. I focus on quality, experience, creativity and creating images you will genuinely love and treasure.
You get value for money and often far more images than photographers who charge per image, because I would rather give you those memories than delete them. But sometimes the lack of respect for what goes into this job can be incredibly disheartening.
There will always be someone willing to do it cheaper, but not everyone will offer the same level of time, care, editing, equipment, safety, studio setup and professional experience that goes into my work.
My prices reflect the standard of work, time and dedication I put into every single session.
