I strive to do more than take pictures with my photography; I aim to also create art. I've participated in numerous photoshoots where a set was designed, and models were styled according to a specific theme, allowing me and others to photograph them. Typically, I arrive, take pictures, and then leave. However, last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a tutorial day that taught me how to plan and execute the entire process myself. This included everything from the initial planning of the set, lighting, and costumes to setting up the studio, directing the models, capturing the shots, and then creatively editing and post-processing the images.
I want to extend my gratitude to Stephanie for her inspiration and creative input, as well as for doing makeup and styling. I also want to thank Steve for his assistance with the lighting setup and design, and to my two models, Eloise and Victoria, for their patience and willingness to pose and re-pose while I worked to capture the shots I envisioned. I learned a lot and now want to do more creative shoots like this once I get my own home studio space completed (very soon now!) - I then need to come up with some ideas and have a few willing people to model for me.
Here are two images on the broad theme of the Ice Queen I created last weekend and edited today.
