Another shot of the Alyn Wallace Memorial in Elan Valley! This one is just a simple shot with the focus being on the Alyn Memorial, and the out of focus stars in the background giving a bokeh effect. Hopefully I can get back to Elan Valley either this year or next to visit Alyn again 🌌 RIP Legend!

I'm blown away with all of the messages and comments I've received about the Alyn Wallace Tribute video on my YouTube Channel! Even Alyn's Friends and Family have contacted me about it, which is an absolute honour! Thanks for that Twm Sion Cati

In this image you can see green and red airglow starting to fill the sky, with the Zodiacal Light to the left of the Alyn Memorial. This cone of light rising from the horizon is interplanetary dust which is illuminated by the sun just after sunset. The best time to see this is around March to May, in the west just after sunset and you can only see it from a very dark sky, away from any light pollution. Once the sun drops lower below the horizon it stops illuminating this dust in our solar system and the zodiacal Light dissappears.

Back in March I travelled to Elan Valley in Wales to photograph the night sky over the Alyn Wallace Memorial! Alyn, who sadly passed away in 2024, inspired Milky Way photographers all over the world! If it wasn't for Alyn then I wouldn't be taking the photos I do now.
In this image I take 1 knee next to his memorial to symbolise the huge loss Alyn's passing was to the Nightscape Photography community. The knee is also a thank you to Alyn for everything he taught us and for inspiring people all over the world.
In this image the sky is filled with green airglow as the Cassiopeia region of the Milky Way stretches across the top of the frame. This section of the night sky features the California Nebula, The Heart and Soul Nebula and The Flaming Star Nebula which can be seen as red patches in this image. There is also the blue Plieades Star Cluster to the left of the memorial and the Andromeda Galaxy to the right of the memorial.

Also, a special thank you to Jeroen Linnenkamp Paul Haworth Richard Tatti Martin Fransson Matej Mlakar and Greg Rowney for featuring in the intro to this video! Give their pages a follow and check out their images! Also, make sure you check out Alyn Wallace Photography and the images that inspired me to start this awesome hobby!

Star Trails capturing the Earths rotation, over the huge quarry at Coldstones Cut!! This night there was a full moon high in the sky, which lit the quarry up perfect for the photo!

2 years ago today we lost the king of Milky Way Photography, Alyn Wallace Alyn was a world famous Landscape Astrophotographer who passed away way too young and still to this day I rewatch his old adventures on YouTube, travelling to places like The Atacama Desert, La Palma and Utah to photograph the darkest skies in the world. If it wasn't for Alyn then I wouldn't be living the life I am today. He inspired me and so many others to travel to places like La Palma to photograph the Milky Way and my recent trip to Elan Valley to see his memorial. This year I'm returning to La Palma, travelling to Spain to photograph a Total Solar Eclipse, and hopefully next year travelling to either The Atacama Desert or Utah to photograph the Milky Way from there. I wouldn't be going on any of these adventures if it wasn't for being inspired by Alyn Wallace! Alyn was the best in the world, the GOAT of Milky Way photography, not just because of his images, but because of the inspiration he gave people all around the world, and he shared his knowledge and taught us all how to photograph the night sky for ourselves. If it wasn't for Alyn I wouldn't be taking the photos I am today. Also because of Alyn inspiring me to start my own YouTube channel, I have become friends with other Milky Way photographers from around the world, such as
Paul Haworth
Jeroen Linnenkamp
Matej Mlakar
Richard Tatti
Martin Fransson ...and many others, which I am very grateful for, these guys all help keep Alyn's legacy going and their work is excellent!!

I'm currently working on all of the Milky Way photos and video footage for the Elan Valley vlog where I visit Alyn's memorial, hopefully I can have that out on my YouTube Channel in the coming weeks as a tribute video to Alyn Wallace. RIP Alyn 🌌
