Babies are arriving like buses 🚌 🚌

It seems that all of our July babies are deciding to make an appearance this week. 3 of them are past clients too, which is super exciting - one of them with baby number FIVE!

We still have another 3 also due any day now too. 😲

That’s why it’s so important to book during pregnancy - because you’re guaranteed a space when baby is born.

Every newborn photographer just smiled at the right-hand side… 😂

If you’ve ever tried to photograph a sleepy newborn at home, you’ll know it usually goes something like this…

🍼 Feed baby.
😴 Baby falls asleep.
⏰ Two minutes later… awake.
👶 Try posing. Baby wiggles.
💩 Baby poos on every blanket.
💦 Baby wees on Mum.
📸 Take 147 photos.
🤦 End up with one that’s almost in focus.

Sound familiar?

The truth is, newborn photography isn’t just about having a nice camera. It’s about knowing how to safely soothe, settle and gently pose a baby, reading their cues, working patiently around their needs and creating a calm environment where parents can actually switch off for a couple of hours.

While we’re doing all the hard work, you’re enjoying a hot drink, putting your feet up and soaking in those tiny newborn moments that disappear far too quickly.

We’ll worry about the lighting, the posing, the accidents (trust us… we’ve seen them all! 😂) and creating beautiful portraits.

Living up to her name, she really was the star of her newborn session. Slept beautifully throughout the beanbag poses but by the end decided it was party time and gave us some incredible wide eyes.

We cannot wait for her gorgeous album to arrive back at the studio with us. ❤️

That adorable little “froggy pose” you often see in newborn photography? 🥹

It’s actually one of the most misunderstood images online.

This pose should never be created with a baby balancing unsupported. A professionally trained newborn photographer will always have baby supported throughout the process, with the final image carefully created as a composite in editing.

Your baby’s safety will always come before getting the shot.

When you’re choosing a newborn photographer, you’re not just investing in beautiful photographs - you’re trusting someone with your most precious person. Make sure they have the training, experience and knowledge to pose your baby safely.

This little one has just completed her sitter session, and their beautiful order is now in production.
