Totally worth the 5am alarm.

Quietly walking through the woodland without disturbing these elusive creatures was a challenge I was very aware of.

One rustle too loud or one crack of a branch and the hare would be gone at speed.

But the hare stayed.

Not only that, more appeared. And as I waited, they got closer.

Featured in folk lore, children’s story books and art, it was a privilege to watch and photograph these animals.

Aren't puffins just so cool?

The background was going to be white but adding colours seemed fitting for the bright and charismatic character of a beautiful puffin. 🎨

Based on one of the puffin photos I took at Skomer island. All my wild artwork is based from my own images, observations and nature experiences. 🌿

Brown argus - the name argus comes from the spots which apparently look like the many eyes of a giant in Greek mythology. 👀

Part of the family Lycaenidae which has a close association with ants as part of their life cycle! 🐜

This full day workshop aims to help develop your skills, photographing the nature around you in the beautiful scenery here at Careys Secret Garden. Learn in a relaxed, fun and a low pressure environment.
