This is probably my favourite part of mentoring.

Not throwing another 467 things onto someone’s to-do list šŸ˜‚

But actually sitting down together, looking at their business, their work and their goals and working out what will genuinely move things forward.

Today Sami is here for a full mentoring day and we’re covering everything from shooting an in-home newborn session together to workflow, marketing, pricing and all the bits in between.

There’s something very different about being able to ask the questions that are specific to YOU rather than trying to piece everything together from another course or Instagram post.

And I bloody love these days šŸ¤Ž

The final day of my first ever Mini Session Bootcamp 🄹

I’m not going to lie, creating and delivering this alongside the school holidays, client sessions and everything else has been A LOT šŸ˜‚ But seeing everyone’s ideas, plans and confidence growing throughout the week has made every late night completely worth it.

The biggest reminder from this week? Most of us don’t need more ideas. We already have approximately 700 of those šŸ™ƒ

We need a clear plan, some accountability and someone to help us work out what to do first.

I’m so proud of what I’ve created—and very grateful to every photographer who trusted me enough to join the first round šŸ¤

The Bootcamp will be available as a self-paced course from Monday, with a special introductory price for the first 48 hours ✨

Comment BOOTCAMP and I’ll send you the link to join the list and make sure you don’t miss it.

September always feels a bit like a second January to me šŸ˜‚

The boys are back at school, I’m properly back at my desk, galleries are going out, I’m teaching my first Mini Session Bootcamp this week, I’ve got mentoring coming up AND apparently I’ve decided this is also the perfect time to start planning something completely new for Christmas šŸ‘€šŸŽ„

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to sort my entire life/business/house out immediately.

Anyone else?! šŸ˜‚

For now I’m attempting to remember that I don’t actually have to do everything in the first two weeks of September.

One thing at a time, Soph. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤Ž

✨ MODEL CALL✨

I’m looking for a lovely family to take part in an upcoming model session for mentoring/teaching purposes.

This session will be used as part of a photographer training day, so there will be gentle teaching and guidance happening alongside the shoot — all very relaxed and nothing intense, I promise šŸ¤

Please feel free to share with anyone who might be a perfect fit ✨

The newborn photos I love most often aren’t really about the newborn at all šŸ¤Ž

They’re about this.

Your baby in your arms. In your home. In the middle of the life you’ve just brought them into.

No perfect house needed. No posing. No trying to make those early days look like something they’re not.

Just your family, exactly as you are right now.

Because one day even the rooms you see every single day will look different — and I think there’s something really special about remembering this bit too. šŸ¤Ž

The last time I photographed this family, little George was still tucked away inside his mum 🄹

We were on the beach at sunset, documenting those last few weeks before everything changed.

And then a few weeks later, instead of sandy toes and golden light, I was walking through their front door to photograph Baby George actually here, snuggled up at home with his family šŸ¤Ž

Honestly, this is one of my favourite parts of the Motherhood Collection.

Getting to document the whole story rather than just one tiny piece of it.

From bump, to those hazy newborn days, through the squishy baby months and eventually all the way to their first birthday.

Four sessions. Four completely different chapters of the same little story.

And we’re only halfway through George’s 🄹

I already can’t wait to see how much he’s changed by the next one.

What a bloody lovely job I have šŸ¤Ž x

Photographers… if mini sessions always feel a bit like you’re making it up as you go along šŸ˜‚ this is for you.

I’ve been running minis in my own photography business for years now and, honestly, I’ve learnt A LOT along the way.

What to charge.
When to start talking about them.
How to get people actually waiting to book.
What works… and what absolutely does not šŸ˜‚

And that’s basically what I’ve put into my Mini Session Bootcamp.

For 5 days I’m going to take you through exactly how I do it in my own business — from coming up with the offer + pricing it properly, right through to launching, selling and giving your clients an experience that makes them want to come back.

No vague ā€œjust show up more on Instagramā€ advice šŸ™„

Just the actual stuff I do.

And once you’ve got the system, you can use it again and again — Autumn, Christmas, Spring, Summer… whatever minis you fancy running.

We start Monday 7th September 🄹

5-day online course | £67 | Lifetime access

If you’ve been thinking about running minis (or yours could do with a bit of a rethink), come and join us.

I’m SO excited to get started šŸ¤Ž

If you’ve got autumn family photos coming up and you’re already thinking WHAT ON EARTH ARE WE ALL GOING TO WEAR?! šŸ˜‚šŸ‚

Keep it simple.

I love warm, earthy colours for autumn — think chocolate brown, rust, olive green, creams and warm neutrals. Mix in a few different textures and layers and you really can’t go wrong.

You definitely don’t need to match (actually, please don’t šŸ˜‚) and you absolutely don’t need to buy everyone a brand new wardrobe either.

Start with an outfit you already own and feel really good in, then build everyone else around you šŸ¤Ž

And if you book a session with me, you’ll get my full prep + styling guide to help with all of this too.

Save this one for your autumn photos šŸ‚

This is the stuff I’m always looking for šŸ¤

Not everyone looking at the camera.
Not perfectly behaved children.
Not everyone standing in exactly the right place.

Just you lot being you.

The cuddles, the chaos, the way they climb all over you, the little looks between you and all the bits that probably feel completely ordinary right now.

Because those are nearly always the photographs that end up meaning the most.

And after six weeks at home with my own two — as ready as I was for that school gate this morning šŸ˜‚ — I’m feeling this more than ever.

The ordinary stuff really is the good stuff. šŸ¤
