Next week are bringing their production 'Port Talbot Gotta Banksy' to in Port Talbot and I'm delighted to announce that alongside this exciting show, , and myself will be exhibiting some of our work that we've created in the town. We're delighted to have been given this opportunity, and personally I'm really looking forward to finally getting to show off what I've been doing for the last 7-8 years!

Do come along to the show, it's going to be well worth seeing, as of course will be the exhibition. You can of course visit the Plaza any time during opening hours to see the exhibition if you're not going to the play, so do pop in and take a look. The prints on display will also be available to purchase on my website.

Thanks to Theatr3 and for sponsoring the exhibition, and cheers to Mongo Gushi for producing this poster!

Next weekend A Community of Steel, www.mongogushi.com and myself Jon James Photography will be displaying our photos/art work at The New Plaza. The exhibition highlights the creativity within our town, community, its people and the steel industry, and coincides with the play ‘Port Talbot Got a Banksy’ written by Paul Jenkins and Tracy Harris, starting on the 15th.

As a fourth generation steel worker, I'm outraged by the news of Tata steel closing the heavy end and laying off at least 3000 hardworking people. This is a disgraceful betrayal of our community and our heritage!

Last week, Port Talbot steel workers marched in protest against growing concerns of mass redundancies at Port Talbot steel plant. Steel is crucial for the UK's infrastructure, and Port Talbot steel works stands as the beating heart of our town. This vital industry not only shapes the community but breathes life into the area. Without it, the pulse of Port Talbot would fade. 🏭🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Support us and help 💪💪

What a place to photograph! Every time is a new experience and allows me to see the different work areas throughout the site. Please give No.1 a vote if you have time 😁

It’s 📸

Steel is endless source of inspiration for creatives worldwide.

Here are some of our favourite shots of just a few of our sites – pick your favourite by voting in the comments below👇

1. Port Talbot BF by Jon James Photography
2. Shotton wildflowers by Phil Lloyd
3. ‘Tin Works’ by Hilary Powell
4. Hartlepool by Colin Miller

🥫 You can check out Hilary’s “Tin Works” exhibition at Amgueddfa Genedlaethol y Glannau - National Waterfront Museum until 4 September. It features 146 employees from our Trostre Works who were expertly captured on tinplate - a heartfelt nod to the site’s rich tinplating heritage on its 70th anniversary year.
