Lewis MacKinnon is a commanding young centre-back who has established himself as an important part of the Portadown defence since arriving at Shamrock Park from Carrick Rangers in the summer of 2024.

His football education includes time with Linfield before making the move across the water to Rangers, where he progressed through their youth and B-team setup. That experience gave Lewis an excellent grounding before returning to Northern Irish football with Carrick Rangers and subsequently joining the Ports.

He has also represented Northern Ireland at U19 level, adding international youth experience to his footballing journey.

MacKinnon quickly became a regular at the heart of the Portadown defence. By March 2026, he had already made 62 appearances for the Ports since making his debut against Cliftonville in August 2024.

At 1.85m, Lewis brings a strong physical presence to the back line, but there is much more to his game than strength. His composure, determination and defensive awareness make him a dependable presence at the heart of the defence.

His importance to Portadown was underlined in March 2026, when he committed his long-term future to the club with a new multi-year contract.

Still only 23, Lewis already combines Premiership experience with an impressive football education — and there is plenty more to come.

LEE CHAPMAN | #7 🔴⚪️

Experience. Commitment. Reliability.

Lee Chapman brings a wealth of Irish League experience to the Ports, having represented Carrick Rangers, Glentoran, Ballymena United and Dundela before arriving at Shamrock Park in January 2023.

Operating primarily at right-back, Lee combines defensive experience with energy down the flank and has now passed the 100-appearance mark for Portadown.

A familiar face in red and an experienced presence within the squad.
