Wanted to get some shots of the AW139 SAR based out of Heli Ops so went out with the camera the other day at lunch.

The AW139 (Augusta Westland) is operated by Heli Ops, added to the fleet in 2022 alongside the Sea Kings to extend their Search and Rescue training capabilities.

Armed Forces Week is an opportunity to celebrate and say thank you to our military, from serving personnel to reservists, veterans and cadets, for all the admirable work they do.

Last weekend, there were a number of festivities taking place, and continuing to do so this week in Weymouth. A Spitfire fly by was booked for the 22nd June however was cancelled due to weather conditions.

Although the flyby was cancelled, I thought id take a few frames in a street/portraiture style to capture those that served and/or are currently serving in his/her majesty's services.

Another Mach Loop first, added to my portfolio...!!! Wanted to get a Typhoon for so long but the ban of RAF frontline jets through the loop but a stop to that, but am so glad to see these guys back in the Welsh Valleys!

A first "capture" for me of an Embraer Phenom transiting through the Mach Loop on 4th June 2025. A rather disappointing single high pass through the Cads but a capture nonetheless.
