A year ago I’d started experimenting with alternative photography practices - my cameras being fixed in Germany for months on end forced me to

I had no idea what I was doing or where it would go. Lots of trials, more errors and a path started to emerge.

A sense of somehow exploring impermanence and playing with fleeting moments drove the process.

This was the first piece where it clicked and my vision of what I wanted to create somewhat resembled the final piece!

The process was iterative, I was relentless and it paid off.

Here’s to more experimentation!

Jenna Coleman, London

Digging into the archives to resurface these portraits from our quick backstage shoot. With her recent work continuing to captivate audiences, it reminded me to revisit this session.

Jenna brings a unique energy to every project she touches, effortlessly shifting between genres. These frames capture just a fraction of her versatility and charm.

I’ve always valued our collaborations; this particular shoot remains a highlight from a few years back, especially as we chatted about photography and cameras.

Thomas Doherty

Loved this shoot and set and wanted to reshare it as I recently watched Paradise which Thomas is just 🤩 in

All shots with natural light in a swanky Soho hotel room a few years ago. This was a lot of fun and Thomas was great to work with. It’s been ace to see his career taking off šŸ™Œ

George Mackay, London

It seems apt to share these film portraits from the archive, given the release of George’s new film Rose of Nevada, directed written and shot by analog genius Mark Jenkin.

George has always picked interesting projects and this one looks ace - it’s shot to the top of my watch list.

It’s always a joy to spend time with George - this shoot was a few years ago now and several years after we first met and worked together.

Am thrilled to share that my piece FRESH BLUES has been selected to be part of Brighton’s first affordable art fair in May!

Huge kudos to the mostest for putting together this epic fair right in the centre of Brighton.

It’s going to be ace being part of both & - am so psyched about this!

I’ve been craving medium format and missing my RB67 that I had in my London studio back in the day - albeit a chunky workhorse of a camera we had some fun together!

Here are various portraits that were part of my Muswell Hillbillies project featuring various friends, traders and passersby who frequented the backstreet studio. Forgive me for not remembering all names (they are scribbled in a notebook somewhere).

The setup was simple, natural light all the way, plain backcloth, and plenty of Portra. Inspired by Penn’s ā€˜Small Trades’ book
