A slightly different subject for this post, but arguably better. This was a really fun shoot to do, and therapeutic, and adorable. Don’t get me wrong it was really difficult since they don’t sit still 😂 but if you take enough shots, some will turn out nicely. ATTENTION!! If anyone has a dog or multiple dogs and wants some photos of them, PLEASE message me, I’d love to do this all over again 😂

Moody streets of Liverpool
ISO 125 f8 1/100 Nikon D5100
Found these two angles while patrolling around Liverpool city centre and gave it my signature moody touch to them both. Even with the f8 aperture there is still a lot of depth which I’m happy with, and retains the detail from the foreground and background.

Liverpool skyline 🔴🏙

Plan was to travel to Lisbon at the end of last year… then saw the prices of PCR tests to travel abroad and ended up going to Liverpool… it was a sad decision. Having said that I ended up with some decent shots around the city and over the river Mersey. I stayed on the South side of the river and got this shot after a bit of scouting. Edited two photos together, one of the skyline and another of the sun rays and combined the two.

Miserable bike ride, perfect photo opportunities
ISO 100 f1.4 1/500 Nikon D5100
Took this back in 2020 just before the second lockdown hit to scratch that last itch before it was too late. The day as a whole was sub par since I had a break for a couple months before I went out into London, but I got a few good shots towards the end after a longggg warming up. I’ll be sure to go back soon.

Dortmund Round-up 🇩🇪
These are a few of the last photos I took in Dortmund that I didn’t think deserved their own post… and I wanna start posting the photos I’ve been taking with my new Sony a7Riv! I have about 27 posts all lined up ready to share so for a while I’ll be posting one a day instead of every other day. Lucky you guys

Train station home
ISO 100 f1.4 1/400 Nikon D5100
One of the last shots I managed to take while in Rotterdam, just to the left side of the station. There are trams everywhere here and the station in the background was my way home back to England. I’ve got a few more photos lined up to share and they’ll be out soon all together in one post

Retro perspective 🎞
ISO 100 f1.4 1/400 Nikon D5100
Back to Dortmund once again and this was taken fairly early on into my trip. First time walking into Dortmund city centre through some of the residential areas and found a really nice old car (can’t remember what it was). A simple shot down the side of the car with the mirror as a subject, and bokeh through the trees in the background. I added grain to it too which made me think of the photos of rural America, idk just gives me America vibes…

Tram number 762
ISO 100 f1.4 1/4000 Nikon D5100
I’d love to go back to The Netherlands one day, there seems to be so much to explore over there and I only managed to spend a few hours the last time I went. England seems so boring in comparison to the rest of Europe. It might just be because I live here, but London seems to be the goldmine and the rest of England is just miserable. I hope to be in Lisbon in a few months time which would relieve some of the pain…

The Dutch have strange traffic lights
ISO 100 f1.4 1/4000 Nikon D5100
Full disclosure, I know it’s not a traffic light, it’s a lamppost… I honestly don’t remember taking this shots, it seems like one of those shots you think ‘that might look ok’ when you edit it and turns out I did like it.

Central Tram at Rotterdam Centraal 🚋
I stopped off in Rotterdam on the way back from Dortmund and I loved the atmosphere of the place. Just as many bikes and scooters as there were cars and the odd tram too. Trams are my guilty pleasure when it comes to photography and sadly there aren’t any near where I live so when I do see them abroad I try to make the most of it.

Red, amber, edit
ISO 100 f1.4 1/2500 Nikon D5100
I took this in a town near Dortmund and there were highway bridges casting shadows across the high street which looked awesome. Turns out, it was also a nice background with the variety of colours it included and the traffic light was perfectly placed. I like the split of colour merging between the bus, the bridge and the sky.
