THE NEW MR & MRS TALBOT-COE

These guys got married on Saturday and I’m still not sure I’ve emotionally recovered 🫣  Where to even begin though!?
Veils in lampposts, Gosport ferry beers, Vicars taking Instax, giant Tiramisu, surprise witnesses, BBQ for dinner and quite possibly the most INSANE bridal bouquet I’ve ever seen in my life!   Delivering previews for this one was next to impossible as I just wanted to include it all, but ended up barely scratching the surface of how incredible it was.   The hugest & warmest thanks to Frankie & Josh for thinking I was remotely cool enough to do their day justice and trusting me 100% to ‘do my thing’ with the photos 🖤  Absolute dream team of suppliers:

ANALOGUE FILM WEDDING IN THE COTSWOLDS 😍

Claire & Alex got married back in June at the king of all tipi venues Dovecote Events and I took a couple of film cameras along for the ride as well as my trusty digital.

Over the course of 2026, film has rapidly become my medium of choice and long sunny days like this one make it easy to weave a few rolls into the coverage of the day.

As we move towards 2027, all of my full-day weddings will include a mix of digital & analogue images.

These are my faves from the 5 rolls - mixture of 35mm & 120 and a mix of different stocks.

SUMMER WEDDINGS IN SUNNY SOUTHSEA 😎🌊🥳

Throwing it back to the solstice weekend and a really fun day (and night) with Emily & Matt at one of Southsea’s coolest spots.

These guys definitely knew how to party and made full use of that long evening to pack as much fun in as they possibly could.

Beach portraits, limbo contents, red velvet cake and their best friends in the DJ booth, what more could you need?

HAMPSHIRE VINEYARD WEDDING DAY 🍇☀️💐

One whole lap of the sun since I was hanging out with Leah & Marc at the gorgeous Poppydown Vineyard on their wedding day.

From the outdoor ceremony in the rolling hills, to the insane florals, little Ted stealing the show and Leah’s mum performing ABBA in full costume in the evening - it was a day packed with genuine fun, which made it a documentary photographers dream.

As someone who’s not really a fan of wine, some of my finest wedding pictures have been taken in Vineyards across Hampshire. Maybe there’s something to not being distracted by it’s produce and just focusing on making the pictures after all 😂

ONE FROM MY WEDDING ARCHIVE 📷

Apparently posting single images is back, so I’m using that to post a picture I recently re-discovered.

The question of wedding photos being ‘timeless’ is something that’s often debated and something I have mixed feelings about…

As someone who studied photography, my biggest inspirations have always been the greats of documentary, whose images still stand out decades after they pressed the shutter to create them.

I like to think I’ve brought that ethos into photographing weddings and never been fussed about chasing trends or fads that have come & gone, just good storytelling of the day that played out in front of me.

That said, any image has visual clues that anchor it to a certain period of time, so I’m curious to see if anyone wants to take a guess at which year this was taken?

WICKHAM ESTATE PORTRAITS ON 120 FILM 🎞️

I’ve been bringing my trusty Fujifilm GA645 to weddings for just over a year now and it’s become my ‘go-to’ choice for portraits. It slows things down enough to be shot with intention, but equally light and fast enough to keep up with the pace I shoot portraits.

The results? An honest set of analogue portraits that reflect the feeling of that quiet time away from the bustle of your wedding day 🥹

These are all frames from a single roll I shot during the evening of Sarah & Steve’s day at Hampshire Wedding Venue back in June. No sunset required to make these hit the spot.

TOWNHILL PARK HOUSE WEDDING

I’m always honoured when fellow creatives reach out to me about photographing their weddings, so when Tom & Lauren got in touch, I was instantly excited at the possibility of what I would make.

Townhill house was a new venue for me too; a private school with incredible grounds on the outskirts of Southampton. The outdoor ceremony space is beautiful and if you’re looking for a country garden vibe, I urge you to check it out.

HAMPSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

It’s that time of the year again where I take a quick pause from posting my work and actually show my face.

I’m Tom, a wedding photographer based on the South Coast in Portsmouth. I spend my days by the sea with my wife, Rowena and our naughty whippet Max.

My journey with weddings begun back in 2009 whilst I was still a fresh faced student; but that first one left such a mark on me that I’m still in love with taking photos at these wonderful celebrations all these years later.

I’m naturally curious and hugely sentimental so it’s no wonder I’ve remained so happy here. I thrive on the importance of the occasion and taking pictures that’ll last a lifetime. In recent years I’ve also returned to shooting film as well as digital at weddings and the combination of the two works perfectly.

Favouring a natural & documentary style, I’m very much an observer more than a director on a wedding day but I truly believe that’s where the magic lies; people being nothing other than authentically themselves and celebrating in the ways they know best.
