The second night of the Strand Corner Camera club will soon be upon us!

We’ll be having a portfolio review with Q&A night. A fun way to get to know everyone, their work and an opportunity to show off your own. I’ll be putting my own portfolio on the chopping block too so head on down to see what everyone’s working with and pick a few brains if you want to.

One of my goals for this year is to get out and shoot more for myself; nothing special just getting out and about shooting things I wouldn’t usually shoot if I’m constantly in the studio.

Today I took the camera to The Harris in Preston for the first time since its renovation but to keep it interesting I set myself a couple of challenges. I only had my nifty fifty and set my crop factor to x1.6 instead of a full frame making it an 80mm equivalent and I only allowed myself to shoot in black and white forcing myself to focus (no pun intended) on content and composition.
