Chorley Odeon - 2021

We explored this back in March of 2021 whilst it was being prepared for demolition. An Art Deco building designed by Harry Weedon, which opened on February 21, 1938 and was one of the last remaining theatres with its original features.

It was a great shame it was demolished. Especially as it's now just a car park.

St Joseph's Orphanage / Mount Street hospital - Preston 2013

After my first photos in here in 2010, I was lucky enough to revisit this one with a much better camera than I had back then. I was able to document a lot more of the building in much better quality. Not long after these photos began the decline and ultimate demolition of most of the site.

Photographed back in 2017 prior to its conversion into a hotel, Preston's old post office.

Originally opened back in 1903, this operated as a post office until 2005 when it closed.

After I took these photos, conversion to a hotel began, however the company converting it went bust and it now sits empty again partially converted.

Preston Catholic College / Newman College sports hall - Preston just off Winkley Square.

Built in the 1970’s as part of the overall catholic college complex on the corner of Mount Street and Garden Street, it was later used by Newman College.

We came across this one by chance in 2017, and it seemed to have not been in use for some time. Now demolished.

Preston Odeon - We explored this in 2019. This cinema closed in the early 90's, and there were plenty of 90's relics to be found inside. There was some of the original feature back from its pre Odeon conversion hidden in some of the ceilings.

Unfortunately, this building eventually succumbed to arson and is now a car park, bar a small part of the facade which survived.
