A golden oldie wedding from St Andrews Church Farnham. It is a handsome and very popular Anglican church located in the centre of Farnham. Do allow guests plenty of time for parking though as it can get busy! The priest was easy-going and therefore there were no irritating rules which can otherwise cramp photographers and videographers at some other churches. I was able to shoot both photos and video throughout the day. The bride and groom had their wedding reception at the nearby Frimley Hall Hotel.

Our bride and groom chose a delightful Oxfordshire venue for their marriage ceremony and wedding reception - the Weston Manor Hotel at Weston on the Green in between Oxford and Bicester.
It has a fascinating history stretching back hundreds of years and you certainly do feel that vibe as soon as you enter the gorgeous grounds and the building itself. And in more recent times generations of special forces military personnel including me would have seen a birds eye view of Weston Manor seconds before parachuting onto the practice field at nearby Weston on the Green courtesy of the Royal Air Force!
Our couple had a strong theatrical flavour including singing some well-known west-end musical numbers with everyone - not the "normal" working day!
One wedding day VIP that didn't show up was sunny weather. We had drizzle and showers for much of the day and it was not possible to make as much use of the lovely mature landscaped grounds as we might have liked. The bride had arranged a bird of prey display for the afternoon. The birds of prey were real troupers and put on a performance for us despite the rain. We had the company of Wilf and Winter throughout the day - two lurchers - who helped out with everything from getting ready to carrying the rings into the ceremony to assisting with the photos.

Highclere Castle, otherwise known as Downton Abbey due to the enormous success internationally of its TV series, features one of several weddings I have shot at this spectacular venue. It nestles in the beautiful rolling countryside just 6 miles from the town centre of Newbury Berkshire - though it is actually located in north Hampshire. You can have a civil ceremony at the castle or at one of the nearby churches such as the Church of the Ascension in Burghclere which this bride did. And they had a horse drawn carriage to go between the church and the castle - lovely!

A terrific Summery wedding day in the Haversham Room at Bracknell Registry Office.

We wanted a very relaxed affair but with beautiful pictures that would really capture just how happy we were on our special day. The Weybridge Registry Office also called Rylston has had a major refurbishment of the building in 2025 after having been closed for several months. It is now absolutely gorgeous. There are two ceremony rooms and the bride and groom featured in this short gallery utilised the Oatlands Room. It is just so lovely. The furniture is arranged in an unconventional manner and it makes for the ceremony all the more intimate and inclusive The Registry Office is near the centre of Weybridge Surrey. It is just a short distance from the M25 and M3 motorways and the A3 so travel is relatively easy. It is a photogenic venue both inside and outside for sure so plenty of photo opportunities. Behind the Weybridge Registry Office there is a large mature enclosed garden with access from the steps so great for all the group photos. There is some limited car parking around the Office and much more in the church car park which is almost opposite the Registry Office. The registrars are particularly easy to work with so no hassles for professional photographers and videographers to shoot your ceremony.

Highfield Park is a lovely venue on the north Hampshire border with west Berkshire near Heckfield and Hook. Sadly it has recently closed to new wedding business so the great summer wedding featured here will become a "golden oldie" unless there becomes a change of mind.

Reading Registry Office main Ceremony Room is on the ground floor in the Town Hall. It is very well known by myself - I am located in nearby Burghfield Common. Please note that ceremonies comprising of no more than the couple plus two witnesses can now be conducted in the Civic Offices in Bridge Street on the first Tuesday of the month. Everyone else should expect the Ceremony Room within Reading Museum and the Town Hall in Blagrave Street. Confusing? You bet! I have photographed and video'd weddings in the Town Hall dozens of times as you might expect. There is no reliable parking available for this building so multi-storey car parks will need to be utilised. Forbury Gardens is just a few yards from the Town Hall and is a lovely photogenic location for lots of portrait and group photos after your ceremony. Adjacent to Forbury Gardens are the ruins of Reading Abbey. And a little further afield is Christchurch Meadows and the beautiful Caversham Court Gardens. The Registry Office staff are easy-going and helpful. There are three other function rooms within the Town Hall but the one featured in this short gallery is the location most often used.

Goldings, the Basingstoke Registry Office is a pretty wedding venue both inside and outside and is very popular with couples. It is located within walking distance just south of Basingstoke town centre. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and there are no onerous restrictions on professional wedding photography and video during ceremonies. I have worked at this venue many times for both photography and video, and combinations of both, and am based just a few minutes drive away in between Basingstoke and Reading. The steps around the main entrance usually has a great selection of bedding flowers and is a lovely backdrop for your must have group and portrait photos. Just a few yards away from the venue is Basingstoke War Memorial Park complete with its bandstand. A terrific location to use for your wedding portraits and group photos as the immediate exterior of the Register Office can get very busy with frequent ceremonies especially at weekends.

A gorgeous outdoor summer wedding day at the Cantley House Hotel in Wokingham Berkshire. The hotel is an old country house that has retained its Edwardian style charm throughout. It is well maintained and there has been a recent significant gorgeous refurbishment. Outside it has extensive gardens which are well landscaped and kept in good order. Ideal for outdoor summer weddings. The Wokingham registrars responsible for weddings at the hotel are easy going and sympathetic to the needs of professional photographers and videographers. The Oak Room is the indoor function room in which ceremonies usually take place. Larger weddings can take place in the adjacent Briar Barn which is also the usual place for the wedding breakfasts and receptions, which this couple had.

Another very occasional Instagram post during this very busy Summer illustrating a wedding ceremony at the lovely world-famous Brompton Oratory – also known as the London Oratory – near Kensington London UK.
The reception was held 65 miles away at Downing College at Cambridge University so some coaches brought the guests to and from that area, and a separate photographer shot that part of the day.
We were blessed with decent weather in London on the day – quite a change from much of this Summer so far!
I've shot at the Brompton Oratory several times over many years. It is always delightful and photogenic. There are some restrictions for photographers, particularly no flash, no moving around, and no shooting during the Offertory to the end of the Communion, so do be aware of these rules if you are considering booking the Oratory for your wedding or christening. In practice though the “staff” are more easy-going than you might think.
