Our team consists of ex miners, cavers and mine rescue, every trip is taken with caution and callouts made to other members of where we are underground. This one would be at least 81 years old, given that the mine closed in 1945.

My buddy for scale whilst lighting up a West Devon copper mine stope. Note the chain still hanging down on the right hand side, the stope is a good 3ft wide at the narrowest and goes a lot wider in places. We are around 150-200ft below the surface at this point and the stope extends a good 50+ft above us.

Back across the border and into a Devon copper mine, which was the third largest copper producer with a recorded output of 66000 tons of copper ore.
On the floor is part of a old wooden leat, once used to move water through the mine and often across voids such as shafts.

Looking down number 2 level in a privately owned and funded West Cornwall tin mine project. The guys do one amazing job of keeping the mine safe and tidy as well expanding the mine via ongoing digs in the lower level of the mine. The rails are still being used today as the ideal way of removing the rock and dirt deeper in the mine.

Happy Blue Monday!
The other side of the blue waterfall in a 1840-1880 Cornish tin mine. The huge stope behind this comes across as a black void but adds to showing off the amazing blue colour from the copper minerals. We were around 160ft below the surface at this point, so really shallow workings although the mine went down many hundreds of feet below this.

Half way across a stope in a Cornish mixed mine, around 160ft below the surface at this point. Safely clipped onto the ropes that are fixed in place to take this video. The stope continues downwards another 100+ft to the flooded abyss.

Once a copper mine, but was also worked for lead zinc and silver, worked from 1700 to 1903.

A short video clip of the lower stope we explored in a mixed mine, around 200ft below the surface at this point, with the water level in the mine another 30ft below us.
