Llanwrtyd Wells 2026 & 1920 - my latest re-shoot of an old tourist postcard.

The postcard, depicting The Square, was postmarked September 1920, and was posted to Ethel Davies of Gwalia Terrace, Landore near Swansea. The message reads "Dear Ethel, We are staying at Northampton House Llanwrtyd. Enjoying very well at present. I will write a letter later in the week. I am also writing to Eluned. I am yours sincerely, Gertie".

The old Barclays Bank building was then known as Medical Hall, and behind the Neuadd Arms Hotel stood the Zion Baptist Chapel of which a fragment lives on as LBC Llanwrtyd - The Well. To the right edge of the postcard can be seen the wall of the old row of shops that included the Post Office, these were demolished I believe in the early 1970s.

Llanwrtyd Wells 2026 & 1907 - the first of my attempts to re-shoot as closely as possible old postcards of the area. The Congregational Chapel is now the Llanwrtyd & District Heritage & Arts Centre

The postcard is postmarked August 1907 and was sent to Gorseinon near Swansea. The message reads "Arrived safe, reached here in good time, plenty of room in train. Can't go out this afternoon because it's raining. Please bring my mackintosh & don't forget your own. Hoping to see you all right tomorrow".

The sign on the left edge of the postcard, hanging on the wall of the Neuadd Arms Hotel reads D Pugh I think.
