Good morning to you all, it looks like another HOT one today, fortunately, next week is looking a lot more settled...
I've been struggling to get out with the camera this week as the heat has been so intense, sensibly, the wildlife is sticking to the deep shade, even the ducks and swans are avoiding the majority of the day by sticking to the reeds or overhanging trees for some cover 🥵
I have a few shots to go through which are on the camera, but this morning, im off shopping for hide materials (and bbq foods)

Have a great day today, keep drinking plenty of water, and do what the wildlife is doing, stick to the shade, and don't do much if you can 👋👍

Following on from this morning's post, the answer to my question is the photo on this post, no one guessed correctly, most went for the obvious image, the poppy seed head.
So to Liz Young, Diane Sutton, Gordon & Maureen's Images, and Colin Williams, good guesses, but not quite right, this flower is no more than 6mm across, ther clue is the lawn grass you can see to the right of the flower, well done for having a go though.

For anyone interested, the camera used was the canon r7, the lens is a canon rf 100mm f2.8, and the settings were iso 8000, 100mm, f13, 1/3200s. I also had attached to the lens a Raynox 250 to really increase the magnification

A few garden close-up's, most of the shots were taken with either the big 100-500mm lens which is my go to lens for wildlife photography, or with my 15-35mm landscape lens.
One was taken with the macro lens, can you tell which one it is??

The answer, and correct guesses will be revealed later this evening 😀

It's been a while since I've used the trail cams at the buzzard site, but yesterday, I found a fresh bit of roadkill in the form of a pheasant, set it in the wood, placed the cameras, and waited....
Early this morning saw a roe deer, and RIGHT NOW, THIS VERY MOMENT, there is the same buzzard feeding who came regularly a couple of months ago, it's so great to see it's back 😀

Morning all, and to all my recent new followers, a huge hello and thanks for following my page.

As i arrived at work yesterday, I checked the barn for any signs of the owls, and I was pleasantly surprised to find this one snoozing (first shot), so during the day, I convinced myself that staying on till almost 8pm would give me a good chance of seeing the owls hunting over the meadow beside the barns....
Wrong....!
Unfortunately, the barn owls didn't make an appearance, so the shots following the first are from 10 days previous, taken at a different location in Dorset

So, following my trip up to the stunning Avon Gorge in Bristol yesterday, here are a few shots.
I met up with three members of Avon Images Photography Group, and a great bunch they are too, Gary, Peter, and Mark provided great company, a lot of laughs, coffee, but no cake..!! 😅
Our main target was peregrine falcons, we also spotted a sparrowhawk and a buzzard, chatted to some friendly locals, and spotted some rather interesting characters too...
On the way home, I stopped off at a small lavender farm in Somerset which I've been to before, there was a shocking lack of bees and butterflies there, previously when I've been, there have been literally thousands of buzzing and fluttering insects around me.

The next trip with members of Avon Images Photography Group is a boat trip where we will be on the lookout for osprey fledglings practicing their fishing skills, and hopefully a white tailed eagle or 4, looking forward to that trip very much 😀
