Hello folks
And autumnal seasonal greetings fellow stranglings!
In case we haven't met yet, this is me, Natasha, the 3rd photographer at Ripon's excellent art-space - AKA - The Light Room.
As few may already know, I've been busy shooting weddings all spring\summer season.
Apart from some memorable beauties, I've just not had the chance to be present.
Well, I am now delighted to be back in the studio, and keen to capture some wild and wonderful subjects - YOU!.
However, first I thought I'd share some massively unexpected news from earlier this year that felt something like a magical unicorn landing in my lap.
As if by some shooting star style stroke of luck, I was hand-selected by none other than the world's biggest and most influential fashion magazine -
BRITISH VOGUE.
For some reason they always write it in capital letters?
So I went one step further and typed it in bold.
Mostly because I'm pretty damn chuffed!
5 issues later, November is to be my final issue during this particular wedding campaign.
Here are the images they selected, though there have been many other beautiful star moments this season.
Armed with a new undeniable respect for my own personal brand and style, and unwavering drive to create some unique imagery in editorial, fashion, and fine art, with a generous dose of storytelling for underlying substance, I will be back in The Light Room for the winter and spring whenever I can.
As BRITISH VOGUE are at the cutting edge of the industry, I now have other globally recognised publications such as Vanity Fair, Tatler, Glamour to name a few, knocking at my door.
Alongside more interesting, cooler counterculture, more alternative publications I have to say have caught my eye.
As a result I will be looking to capture portraits to potentially be used as content, and certainly experiment with more innovative fashion concepts through projects to watch out for.
However, as I often find fashion a touch fickle (to say the least), I will be seeking opportunity to challenge the status quo whenever I can.
Portraits shot by me are still reasonable whilst there is no pressure to book.
It's an experience to be enjoyed, and a process worth enduring!
Bear in mind it's pretty normal to feel uneasy, nervous and exposed in front of the camera.
Though, I might add, if you are feeling any of the above it's actually really worth your time as I guarantee it will improve your self-esteem.
I personally make sure of this, as it's probably the most common feedback I receive.
Availability may be limited, though I will always do my best to give time generously.
I'm not your point and shoot portrait artist, I do work to get to know a little about you.
Each shoot is unique, and we work together on style for authentic results.
All manner of portraits are of course available in studio or on location.
I do prefer to encourage your own distinctive personality and style to shine through.
Though you can be as simple, or as flamboyant as you so desire - there are no rules other than you invest in me, and yourself as an original subject in art.
If you're feeling lost, I'm well averse to influential, modern, vintage and counterculture arts and fashions, and happy to suggest a way stylistically so don't panic .
Just be bold, you are a complete one-off original after all!
'Tis the season to be brave' -
