IBImages I am a hobbyist photographer based in Kent and prepared to work in and around the area.

Although I like many types of photography, I mainly shoot portraits, fashion and editorial. I also love to do dance-based work and in particular ballet themed shoots. I am a co-director of Rochester Studios, in Rochester, Kent, where I also run lighting and photography workshops. I can shoot anything from headshots through to family portraits at the studio or on location and even arrange hair styling and makeup through a number of excellent contacts I have worked with.

A brief break in the cloud last night gave me a change to shoot a new galaxy, the Triangulum Galaxy in the constellation Triangulum.

The Triangulum Galaxy is the third galaxy in what is known as our local group - Andromeda, the Milky Way and Triangulum. It is the smaller of the 3, roughly 60,000 light-years across compared to the Milky Way which is about 100,000 light-years across, and Andromeda at a massive 200,000 light-years across.

This is 202 x 30 second exposures from the Seestar although I did finally manage to get my main 72ED telescope rig up and running last night but a bunch of technical issues meant I captured absolutely nothing with it!

I left the Seestar S30 Pro running last night for 3 and half hours to get this mosaic of the Elephant Trunk nebula. The field of view is just a bit too tight to get the whole region, IC 1396, in a single framing.

The Elephant’s Trunk is composed of cool interstellar dust and gas, which blocks out light on its way to Earth and leaves behind a long, thin silhouette that gives the nebula its name. The trunk itself, seen in the middle left, is over 20 light years in length.

The large bright orange star at the bottom of the region is Mu Cephei, more commonly known as the Garnet Star. Sir William Herschel (1738-1822), described its colour as garnet in his observation of it leading to its common name. It’s estimated to be 2.4 billion miles across. If it replaced our sun it would extend out past the orbit of Saturn

The Soul Nebula is an open cluster of stars surrounded by a cloud of dust and gas over 150 light-years across. It is about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia and near the Heart Nebula. Heart and Soul, get it? It was formed about a million years ago.

Another new face, the lovely Erin Simonson represented by EmmJs Models

Shot at f2.8 on the bright sunshine with a flash in a diffused beauty dish. Nothing like pushing that high speed sync with a shutter speed of 1/2000th! This uses the Fuji X-T5 Fuji Chrome film simulation to give the soft muted colours assisted with a black mist filter
