Oakdale Projects Limited is a one-man company run by myself Ian Bruce. OPL provide site services to the construction industry as a Site Engineer in the form of positional setting out, site control, datum control, progress records and construction as-built surveys and drawings. More recently I have qualified as a SUAS/Drone pilot, to UK CAA GVC standard required for commercial operations and also p

assed the A2 Certificate of Competence. I am currently doing a marketing course with UAVHUB for Drone business, whilst practising and fine tuning my flying and camera skills to improve the quality of the end product, which hopefully in turn will give prospective clients a sense of reassurance and confidence in the services I hope to provide. I am looking to be proficient and ready to carry out aerial photography/videography work around mid to end of November. This would be for example, but not limited to, construction site progress surveys, real estate promotional imagery, family events imagery, also structural integrity inspections, i.e. roof inspections, chimney breasts, guttering, eaves, etc, including pre-repair work and post-repair work for insurance purposes. Once I am fluent with the imagery work I will be undertaking some practical training to improve my data processing ability, which will enable me to carry out other Drone projects in construction, such as land mapping, volumetric surveys, topographical surveys and as-built surveys.

Rockingham Mausoleum, another Wentworth folly with a couple of Buzzards and a Parrot watching over it.
Situated in Wentworth, South Yorkshire.
Rockingham Mausoleum is a monumental structure which was built between 1783-1789, it was designed by John Carr and commissioned by the Earl William Fitzwilliam to commemorate his late uncle, Charles Watson-Wentworth, who died in 1782 whilst he was the serving Prime Minister.
The structure stands at just over 27m (90 feet in old money), made up of three tiers, mainly sandstone construction and surrounded by 4 obelisks.

The Parrot training is coming on. I'm confident enough now to fly a parrot through the eye of a needle, well that would be a Parrot Anafi through the Needle's Eye, a monumental structure in Wentworth, twixt Rotherham and Barnsley 😁

Keppel’s Column with scaffolding now at full height, and Grange Park golf course, the front 9 fairways, on a cold and muggy winter’s day.

With the scaffolding now up to the top, I reckon some serious restoration work will be getting done to KC. Hopefully it should be ready in time for the scheduled re-opening to the public in spring 2022

Valleys and gutters heavily clogged up

Here are some images taken from a roof survey which I did on a private dwelling, where a build up of moss and lumps of tile cement have been clogging up the valleys and gutters. Thus prompting the property owner to get them cleaned out. I will be following up with a post-work survey shortly.
