Hi everyone, 👋
As you may know I’m a keen mountain biker with type 2 diabetes and have recently built something called 'Shred Safe' after realising there’s barely any proper MTB-focused diabetic safety info out there.
Things like:
• what to carry on rides
• hypos on the trails
• fuelling properly
• foot care for riders
• blood sugar prep before big rides
• what happens if you’re miles into a forest and things go sideways

It’s not coaching and I just wanted to create something genuinely useful for diabetic riders because getting back into MTB massively helped my mental health and fitness, but there’s definitely extra stuff we have to think about compared to most riders.

Would genuinely love feedback from other diabetic riders too, whether type 1 or type 2. 👍

Yesterday we laid my beautiful Mum to rest. She was everything to our family. The space she’s left is huge and hard to face. Thank you to everyone who reached out with kind words and happy memories - it means the world to us. xx
