Mark Ellison Photography Photographer based in the north-west of England with particular passion for wildlife and wild landscapes. markellisonphotography.co.uk Hello!

My name’s Mark Ellison and I'm a photographer based in the north-west of England with a passion for wildlife and landscapes. When I’Ism not pointing my camera at birds, animals (who seem to have a sixth sense to run away when I'm about to hit the shutter button) and wild landscapes, I've been known to photograph the odd wedding and also point my lens at racing cars too. But for me it’s mainly all

about the wildlife we share our planet with, and the wild landscapes in which they live. And that’s what I've decided to focus this on. I've been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places, including that holy grail of locations for any wildlife photographer, Kenya and the Masai Mara in east Africa. Through the galleries on this site I hope to share what are my favourite images, show you what I've been up to recently with my latest work and I’ll aim to keep the page updated with various ramblings. I’d love to hear from you if you've any comments or questions or (however unlikely!) you’d like any tips or advice. Feel free to use the contact link at the top of the page to fire me off a message. I hope you enjoy viewing my photographs as much as I did taking them.

Possibly the most memorable and iconic image from my recent trip to the far north of Iceland to photograph the rare blue morph arctic foxes in their natural environment.

We had spotted this individual off in the distance along the beach where were hunkered down, carrying a dead eider duck and guessed that he was heading off to cache it.

We rolled the dice and hoped that he would head in our direction and not the other way and got lucky. He headed in our direction getting closer and closer and paused mere feet from where we were lying, staring us down, before boldly walking straight past us without a care in the world.
