One of the myths surrounding newborn photography is that the baby needs to be asleep for the entire session. Whilst a sleeping baby can help me to create beautiful and peaceful photos, it's definitely not a necessity. In reality, newborns can be unpredictable and may not sleep the entire time, but this doesn't mean your portraits will be any less beautiful! A skilled newborn photographer can work with your baby's mood and still capture beautiful and unique images. I love being able to capture portraits like this wide awake newborn and even managed to get her looking at the camera!

Is your baby on the verge of being able to sit on their own? Being able to sit unaided is a lovely milestone, they start to see the world from a different angle and enjoy the independence that comes with being able to sit. But where did the last 6 months go? I know you want to press pause, but the next best thing is to take lots of photographs. Booking a sitter session is the best way to capture this beautiful milestone!
