A busy period recently collecting data for ongoing and proposed construction projects - unfortunately no pretty pictures but a separate post to follow!

I did, however, manage to pop out for the sunrise at Salisbury Cathedral earlier in the week.

Such a beautiful piece of architecture, and it sits just above my max altitude at 123m!

We continue to support DWFireRescue with efforts to contain and dampen down the fire in the Trowbridge area. At its height 14 fire appliances from across the region were tasked

Nearly 24hrs since the first 999 call, 3 pilots and 5 spotters/ drivers have deployed in shifts, to support firefighters with identifying hotspots and giving the incident commander situational awareness

We’re currently dealing with a large fire in the open on . The road has been closed and there’s a significant smoke plume so local residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed.

Additionally, power in the area has been isolated due to the fire and we’re aware it’s affecting a large number of homes and traffic lights.

We are working hard to extinguish the fire and bring the incident to a close.

So, last night was a Blood Moon, a total lunar eclipse, which happens when the earth is situated directly between the Sun and the Moon.

Unfortunately I live in England, so it was cloudy. I did, however, whilst trying to capture the moon, manage to grab some great city scapes of beautiful Salisbury, featuring Salisbury Cathedral! I would have loved to capture the cathedral with the blood moon behind it, but the Cathedral lights switch off at 2300 and the cloud is in till approx 0300..

Either way, The city was looking pretty awesome, and I did see the moon briefly through a tiny gap in the cloud.. Enjoy!

Great evening and early start at Stonehenge Solstice Festival now to get cracking with the editing before the family rise, then on to 26!
