She’s on the move!!!

Kids always love their shoot, they get an hour or 2 with their parent(s) fully present - playing, connecting, and doing their favourite things.
I don’t make them sit still and smile - I’m here for the full range of facial expressions and emotions, the chocolate moustaches and muddy knees 😁

They are so in the moment, earnest and unapologetically themselves and that’s what I want to capture.

What a difference 3 years make!

I loved catching up with this family I last photographed when this little lady (who wanted me to stay the whole day 🥰) was a baby, and meeting her little brother!
Apologies for the cliché 🤢, but, it DOES go so freaking fast 🤯

HAPPY FRIDAY FRIENDS 🥳

Hope you have a fun weekend planned!
I for one thought it would be a Fantastic idea to tackle the attic cupboard today. I was on my high horse and in the zone at first and it felt very satisfying, but then got the “can’t be arsed anymore” and “wtf have I started” halfway through 😬
I did {reluctantly} power through, and, a lot of swearing and a stubbed toe later, I now have the satisfaction of a clean and organised cupboard and s**t all over the house from said cupboard. So that’s tomorrow sorted!

I am however super excited for a shoot on Sunday with some past clients. They had just had a baby girl last time I photographed them and she is now 3.5 and has a little brother 🥰
I love photographing people / families through the years and capture memories of the different stages of their lives together.

✨Snippets from a newborn shoot✨

« Marie came to our family home to do a newborn photoshoot. From the moment she arrived we were made to feel comfortable and at ease. The hour was relaxed and we chatted throughout, Marie genuinely seemed to care about our experience as a family. Marie gave us small tips of where to stand or possible pictures (such as the baby in their cot or looking over Dad’s shoulder), but otherwise she documented our activities as they happened, including feeding and changing our newborn. All in all it was a wonderful hour and the resulting photos are incredible. A fantastic way to document such an special time of life - would definitely recommend. Thank you Marie :) »

I’m so excited to announce that I’m collaborating with the wonderful Pip RMB Yoga With Pip from RMB Yoga and Wellbeing ❤️

RMB Yoga and Wellbeing is an empowering trio of women, creating the village of support and love to mums-to-be, new mums, and other women united.

Pip offers pregnancy yoga, baby massage and mum+baby yoga classes in Wilton and Shaftesbury and her approach and values are very aligned with mine - her classes are intimate, nurturing, gentle, supportive and warm, and she feels passionately about supporting women and mothers.

“We loved our photoshoot. We picked Marie because of her photography style: we do not like posing for photos, and it wouldn't capture our family well in the photos.

We did a morning photo session, and the result is great! We decided to do it at home as we love this house but unfortunately we are moving soon, and we just had a great morning as family, doing the things we usually do together, and Marie captured a lot of our special moments in great pictures.

I would definitely recommend her work! We are moving overseas, but will try to make this a yearly ritual and perhaps get Marie to take photos of us in outdoor settings in the UK :-)”

A few years ago and in the blur of early motherhood, I was walking on the street, a baby stuck to my chest, a toddler on a buggy board (one of the worst things ever invented by the way!), and a pushchair full of . I was sleep deprived, ravaged by emotions and overwhelm, and shaky from yet another challenging / eyebrow raising (mother f*ers!) trip to the supermarket, when a woman stopped me and handed me a bouquet of beautiful sunflowers. On it was this note.
She was gone before I had time to process and thank her, but I still can’t quite put into words what that gesture and those words meant to me that day, and every day since.
Six years later, that note is still stuck on the wall next to my bed. It’s the first thing I see when I wake up and the last before I go to sleep.
“Never say you’re ‘just a mum’, because your work is the most important there is”
I don’t know much, but this I know, I really do.

Recognising and celebrating mothers is something I am really passionate about. I am about to launch a Mother’s Day offer, details coming soon!
