If you’re an expectant or new parent thinking about booking a newborn session. I bet I know the one question that’s in your mind!
What if my baby doesn’t co-operate? You may love the idea of having newborn photographs but you’re already be thinking, “What happens if my baby just won’t settle?”
Perhaps you’re worried that the session will become stressful, that we won’t be able to get any photographs or that you’ll somehow feel responsible because your baby isn’t doing what they’re supposed to do.
But babies don’t perform on demand, and I would never expect them to.
Almost every parent who comes to my studio worries about this beforehand. They tell me their baby doesn’t sleep for long, cries when they’re put down or wants to feed constantly.
And I get it. I completely get it because no parent wants to spend several hours feeling anxious about whether their baby is behaving properly.
But the one thing I can absolutely assure you of is that your baby doesn’t need to behave in any particular way for their photoshoot.
Your session will be led entirely by them. If they need feeding, changing, cuddling or simply more time to settle, we stop and give them what they need.
There is no pressure to make your baby sleep, no rushing through a fixed list of poses and no expectation that everything needs to go perfectly.
I’ll gently adapt the session around your baby while keeping them safe and comfortable, so you can relax and enjoy the experience rather than worrying about what they are doing.
So, if you would love professional photographs of your newborn but you’re worried that your baby won’t cooperate, you’re in the right place.
We can have a relaxed chat about your due date, anything you’re worried about and how I’ll create a session that works around your baby.
