Hi everyone, Next weekend I'll be taking part in the 2026 Tough Mudder with work.

Chemring Energetics UK have put together a fantastic team for this year's tough mudder challenge to raise awareness as well as funds for three great local charities, Ayrshire Cancer Support, Whiteleys Retreat. and Ardrossan & Largs Sea Cadets.

Just getting round to posting these as I've had a wee bit going on at the moment. This was my very first time shooting a large group headshot session and I'm really pleased with the results. A couple of weekend ago I shot some headshots and BTS shots for the first ever Miss GB Ayrshire Masterclass in Ayr, and I had a fantastic time doing so.

This was a simple one light (Clamshell) lighting set up with a single 400W strobe with strip softbox on top and curved reflector below to fill in the shadows. Camera and Setting were Nikon D750 + Tamron 70-200. 1/200s, ISO200 and only adjusting the Aperture to compensate for model height (distance from light) and minimal post-processing

The one thing I love most about photography is the learning curve that comes along with every new experience and this fast paced, with a little bit of think on your feet style of photography was a learning curve I really enjoyed...

Was an absolute pleasure and privilege to be invited along to the first ever Miss GB Ayrshire Masterclass to capture some headshots and Behind the Scenes photos of the day's event at LJM Dance Studios and some group shots of the contestants as they celebrated their bug day at the Ghillie Dhu in Ayr. Thanks you so much to Kay Morgan for inviting me along to such an amazing event Missgbayrshire

The first ever Miss Great Britain Ayrshire Masterclass took place this weekend at Ayr’s LJM Dance Studios, bringing together 20 finalists aged between 19 and 71, for a day of preparation ahead of the upcoming grand final.

Finalists developed skills including stage presence, confidence, interview techniques and overall performance ahead of the grand final, which takes place at Troon Town Hall on June 27. Tickets are now available via Eventbrite.

Ayr’s Ghillie Dhu hosted the after-party and official launch of the pageant.

A few dance shots from the other week when I had the privilege of taking a few shots of my niece's before heading out to one of there many dance competitions. I have to say the energy and determination these dancers put into their routines is absolutely awe inspiring. I was completely knackered just trying to take photos of them they didn't stop once. so my hat is off to the guys at CSDA, who do an amazing job channelling such an abundance of energy

I was privileged to have the wonderful Sarah Cannan in at the studio recently, Sarah is a Miss GB Ayrshire finalists for this year's Miss GB pageant, Sarah's from Kilwinning, North Ayrshire and is always offering her time and getting involved in local community projects and gives up a lot of her free time supporting local charities and pushing awareness for the causes she donates her time to.

Genuinely one of the kindest and nicest people I have met, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to have been asked to capture these photos.
